Did anyone trip you up in life?

Think back to different people of influence you have encountered. Has anyone tripped you up along the way? No doubt you got back on your feet and everything turned out fine. But, is there anyone out there you still have a bit of an issue with?

I often think back to when I was a Conference & Banmqueting Manager in a hotel. The Deputy GM took every opportunity to deny me any opportunity to learn as he was too busy passing the buck and covering for himself. As a result, I spent 2 years wasting my time and I only stuck it out as I needed the money and actually got used to a routine where the same simple tasks awaited me everyday and I could still stick C&B Manager on my resume. I should have jumped ship a long time before. Everytime I asked him somsething, I got smart answers as he simply didn't know himself. He was a nasty individual on a Business and a personal level.

Anyone else have it in for someone in hindsight?

I'd love to spit in the face of the area manager who scapegoated me out of my job, claiming I was doing something illegal when four other managers were doing the same thing (and admitted it to him). He used me as an example because I was doing my job too well and he was threatened.

i had a former friend call the navy 5 days before i was to get out on a medical discharge saying i was faking my disabilities and scamming the government out of money. the navy held me for 6 months to investigate and took back the $30,000 they gave me which cause financial problems. everything worked out in the end as they found out i wasnt faking it and the former friend was actually wanted by the FBI for trying to have the mother of his kids killed. karma is a bitch.
