Did anybody ever figure out what state The Simpsons lived in?

Never saw that, but if they did, it was 100% disinformation. They live in Oregon.

I believe you are correct sir.......but do enlighten me as to how you came upon this information. A good friend of mine who happens to wear a Springfield Choppers (picture of Homer on a chopper) t-shirt everytime we go riding, has also mentioned this Oregon theory to me as well.

But many of the character names and place names in The Simpsons are based on Matt Groening's childhood in the Portland, Oregon area.

too limiting to the writers? I don't buy it. there are discrepancies in MAJOR blockbuster films based on these ideas, I don't think the writers of Simpsons are worried about someone finding out the state they live in is really XXX and then going to the NY Post and telling them that it was all a lie cause there are no 3-eyed fish in XXX.

Back to my original point you one-dimensional cockslaves, someone should have watched all Simpsons episodes and crossed off every state they blatantly said they were not from. maybe the end result would be every state was mentioned. still, it would be interesting. for someone that does not have sex. so not me.

On one of the vacation episodes, there was a map of the USA with all the states they've been banned from blacked out.

When Bart, Milhouse, Nelson Muntz and Martin Prince went on their road trip, they drove through Branson, MO, on the way to Knoxville, TN. Therefore Springfield is in the West somewhere. That week.

Springfield is wherever the writers want it to be, on an episode by episode basis.
