DHEA supplement while on AS cycle?

anyone ever supplemented with DHEA (precursor to test) while on an AS cycle. i just got my post cycle test (and estrogen) levels back from the lab (sex drive was..well non-exsistent) and they were very low-obviously. my doc suggested DHEA 25mg ed. i started with 10mg ed till my test results got back today and she upped it to 25 ed. the doc is thinking to help with the sex drive but im thinking since DHEA is a test precursor would it possibly prevent the depletion of test during a cycle?

I don't think it will make any difference. Test levels are rarely limited by precursor availability, and if they were, you would have HIGHER test levels coming off cycle since your body hasn't had to produce it's own for a while. You are just as likely to get DHEA converting to estrogen or even progesterone as you are likely to get it to make more test. Did your Dr actually measure your DHEAS levels??? Are you female?

not sure about if she measured DHEA levels. i know she checked test,FSH,LH. yep, ima gurl! so whaddaya think about me continuing w/the DHEA ? are you sure about levels not being limited by precursor avail??? A NHRT (natural hormone replacment therapy) doc put my mom on DHEA supps because her test levels were low ???? things that make ya go hummm...

If you're test levels are low, get a script for test. DHEA could convert to everything else but test and as MS said, adding a precursor doesn't mean you'll end up with the desired product.

DHEA should be measured (DHEA-sulfate not DHEA) before you take DHEA. If it isn't low for your age, don't waste your money.

If libido is low and it is due to test, get test from your doc not precusors.

yep, drive IS low thats why she suggested supping w/DHEA. she told me to give it three months and we'll re-test blood levels again. gosh by that time i could be single still ask her for test cream??
