Hey guys, I just finished exams and I've been doing well with working out on my new routine for the last little bit.
BUT I got the call today, I leave Tuesday May 10th for 4 months to Police an aboriginal community in Northern Quebec.

I will likely not have access to a gym, or any sort of exercise equipment (not even home gym or free weights).

Maybe this isn't a option to you, But:

I would buy one of those cheap weight and bar sets from a catalouge from someone like Sears who will deliver and have it sent to where you are staying. The whole deal might cost under $200 which divided over 4 months works out to a max of $1.60 a day. When finished in the posting, the set can be sold or donated.

I gotta agree it will be worth the small amount of money if you have the space.

Well i've been here a month... WOW, the shit I've seen!!
The first few weeks I ate like crap when I did get a chance to eat. Man I've lost so much weight. Still not eating ENOUGH, but it's getting better.

So far all I've really been doing is:
Pushups
Lying leg raises
Crunches

found couple dumbbells, so I curl those, and do tricep extensions. I picked up one of those tension bands... good for lat raises and such.

Given my limited eating abilites up here, I can't bulk for crap, so I want to aim for 6pack abs, and just tight muscle - cuz they're not going to get THAT much bigger with these workouts.

Any suggestions for a really good ab routine?
or what sort of rep/set system I should be looking at for pushups or the tension band....

Cst. Ryan :D

I'll likely focus on running (to get rid of my small gut), and abs.
WHAT CAN I DO TO WORKOUT MY UPPER BODY?
I can try to workout with whatever i have avaliable (logs, or cans, ect), and I can do pushups (but they're bad for the wrists).

What exercises or moves can you guys suggest?

Check out some of Matt Furey's sites. It might take a little bit of searching but you can find some free sample training rotines/exercise/tips without buying the book. I have tried some of the workouts when I have trouble getting to the gym and if performed correctly they can be tough. It's not normal pushups/sit-ups, it's some variations of those and movements that aren't commonly used. Really good for getting your cardio in too because of the volume, also excellent for maintaining muscle if you are a seasoned weight lifter but if you haven't been training for several years and consitently you can make gains doing this stuff too. Hope it helps you some.
