Dental surgery while on cycle....

Hey all. I need to get four wisdom teeth extracted ASAP.
The problem is i'm currently on a test/eq/winny cycle. I
wnat to get my teeth extracted on friday so that I can
have the weekend to recover, so that I don't miss any
workouts.

However, people inform me that I probably
won't be able to work out for a week or so cause of the
pain, and my face will be swollen to shit.

What should I do? Should I go to the gym regardless?
(I'll probably end up doing that) Also, how will I be able to
eat all my protein? I'd hate to think about living off protein
shakes for a week.

Anyone have/had a similar problem? Any helpful advice?

Thanks in advance:)

I will have the same problem in a couple months :( My buddy just got through with it and it was not that bad fro him. He still went to the gym and trained and the eating problem was not that bad. He had alot of weight gainers for those cals, yogurt, tuna, fish, rice and oatmeal were all not a problem for him but he could not eat any tough meat that took alot of chewing.

Thanks for the quick reply Mustang.
Two questions though:

1.Was he on cycle?

2.Did he have ALL four teeth extracted, or just one or two?

Thanks in advance bud:)

hey man

check it out! yes it is going to be a pain in the ass but it is not going to be as hard as u think it is .. and as for the shakes all the time . you got it! cuz u aint gonna feel like chewing anything. No he was not on a cycle and he had all 4 removed at once OUCH!!! I am having 2 done at a time when I get mine out ;)

I had 4 removed when I (in my stupid legal supplement days) was taking a large amount of various andro products. I ended up waking up in the middle of the operation, and they had to bump up the anesthesia alot... don't know if being on hormone stuff means they have to use more sedative....?

The most dangerous part about the procedure is going to be the anesthesia. I'd really be more concerned about interactions with ECA or T-3 that could be in your bloodstream.

BTW I skipped the post op prednisone therapy and had no problem. Was back in the gym 2 days later. I did puke that workout and the next three... the doc said this nausea was a lingering effect of the IV sedative.

Just make sure not to clench your jaw too hard when lifting.

max, keep me informed on what happens cause i found out i have to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled too. I am on a sust/eq cycle and i was also worried about whats going to happen. Since i'm a pussy when it comes to the dentist, i want to get completely knocked out but i'm not sure how good its going to be for me.

I had 2 upper wisdoms removed last year and was fine by the next day.

As long as your dentist isn't a butcher, you should recover pretty quickly. I've seen some poor bastards with faces so swollen they looked like chipmunks after getting wisdoms removed.

I just had all four teeth pulled two days ago, and I am basically fine. I started eatin more solid foods today and think I be completely better by tomorrow or monday. I put off my cycle until monday because I didn't want it to interfere.

Had all 4 wisdom teeth cut out three weeks ago. I was and still am on a heavy cycle. Did not loose weight at all besides water. I did not train for 4 days but was able to drink protein and eat soup the day after surgery. It was my first time under and was a little nervous but it was nothing to it. The worst days are 4th-6th because your jaws are sore and you are out of pain killers.

Hey guys I am a dental assistant and the best advice I can give you is to give yourself atleast 2-4 days off from the gym. Especially if you get all four out at the same time. I know you dont want to hear this but I can't tell you how many times I have seen complications ie infections and dry socket (very painful) in people who dont rest. You are having SURGERY, you lose blood and your immune system can be weakened . Not allowing proper healing time is asking for problems. Just make sure you eat well prior and use the days off to your advantage.

by the way out of curiosity, did those of you on cycles tell the dentist and aneasthesiologist? They really should know for your own safety.

Fitchick, no didn't tell him. You could tell he knew I was taking AS though. He was cracking jokes about my body size and asked why I shave my body. :D

Umm Laredo tell me how he could tell you were shaved. Most of our patients keep their clothes ON for extractions!!!! Boy I must be working in the wrong office:p

if you are going under, definatley tell the aneast(what she said, it's tired and i'm a shitty speller :) ) anything that you've put into your system the past few weeks...

i don't know if the same applies if you are just frozen?

Exactly...I was recommended to my specialist my someone very close to me- the doc's waiting list was 3 months but I quickly discovered why. He removed all 4 wisdom teeth in 40 minutes, I was nauseated for the rest of the day, but the day after, I didn't need a single pain or anti-inflammatory med, or again at all for that matter. I was even eating sushi later that night because I hadn't had eaten all day. On the other hand, I have friends who have swollen up like chipmunks for a week because their doc was not very good.

BTW, I wasn't on gear so I'm not sure of any implications between anasthesia and AS, but I do believe many board members have gone under the knife for surgery while on and had no complications.

Had two root canals in the same day, one office visit last May,

Anti-botics and little pain or inflamation, out of the gym 2 days max.

Because of the AAS, your recovery time will actually be better than the average Joe. There are no problems with local anesthesia or IV sedation as related to AS. Just see how you feel.

Hey FATBITCH. I was talking about my shaved legs and arms. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Why the hell are you even here on the Anabolic Board? I guess you are one of those fat ass dental assistants who has nothing else to do in their spare time.:p
