decline bench important ?

Maverick

if I am doing flat bench and incline bench. do I really need to incorporate decline bench in my workouts ?

thanks orbs

some people rely on it, i don't like it because i've injured my shoulder pretty bad, twice, doing them.

Not important at all. Stick with flat/incline presses and maybe weighted dips.

If I were to do decline work I would use the hammer strength machine -- the blood rushes to my head way too much on a decline bench.

depends on what you mean by important?
but i wouldnt recco to do 3 pressing moves in one workout..if youre looking for something different do flats/decline one workout then try inclines/declines the following week

I think it's a bit redundant

Flat bench is pretty much all you need, with inclines added if upper chest is crappy

I used to do dips also but it kept hurting my rotators

I wouldnt worry about doing them....how many people do you see with poor lower chests? not many, most lack uppper chest, focus your attention there. And if you need lower chest development, do dips instead.

i dropped doing them a while back. they are uncomfortable to do and frankly unsure exactly what advantage there is to doing them.
