Wandering what are you guys opinions on decas joint healing abilities?? 2 weeks ago I suffered some micro tears in my rotator cuff and I was wandering if deca may aid in healing time?? I havent trained upper body since injury. Also do you guys think it would be ok to do some light arm and back work as long as I dont have any pain or lay off all together? Advice please..

There are varying theories on deca's joint properties. Regardless of the mechanism it seems to promote a healthy environment for healing and decreases discomfort considerably.

My experiences using it for these purposes:

1) Dislocated Shoulder: was in sling for 1 month, continued to slip out of socket for another month after the sling. No lifting - and yes the slipping was quite painful. Let's call it 50%. I used 200-300mg weekly for a period of 6 weeks (I respond well to gear and low dosages plus hadn't juiced in years). After week 2 I was at 70%. After week 4 I was at 90%. At week 8 I was at 95-98% with only slight residual. I was lifting again after the first 2 weeks but took it easy on upper body. So very slow progress and then rapid acceleration of recovery.

2) Tendonitis in Elbow combined with irritation in knee due to lateral tracking of the kneecap during squating (muscle imbalance). 400mg week 1, 200mg week 4-6 - same conditions as before this was years later and I don't use juice other than for rehab. Knee is perfect (better than in over 4 years). Elbow has finally healed and is at 90+%. Unfortunately I suffered a stupid shoulder injury (not gym related) and was sidelined for all pressing movements and heavy pulls after the first week. Deca seemed to help this as well - it's around 85% right now.

Those are my joint issues that I believe deca helped to allieviate. However, be careful of one thing. Deca can mask a fair amount of discomfort. Don't tear yourself up and not notice it only to come off and have the real pain begin.

MadCow-

When you used the DECA for the tendonitis problem, did you lift forcefully, or did you lift light kinda like rehab??

I used free weights but never anything heavy. Given that each injury is unique you do what you can while allowing it some rest. If you have a problem area - don't go in and hammer it. I generally work on other goals during such a cycle and make sure I get adequate stimulus in the area. I also include assistance exercises if applicable to the injury or basic rehab motions.

Tough to generalize but that's my underlying methodology.
