(CNN) -- Angola's death toll from the Marburg virus has climbed to 173 and four more countries have been placed on alert, as health officials struggle to contain the deadly virus, according to the World Health Organization Web site.

this thread reminded me of a book I read called 'the hot zone' - it was about an infectious virus that spread to the States

I remember when some douche posted that SARS was going to be the be all/end all of all diseases or some shit. Said it was going to be this absurd epidemic and kill millions.

I called him, more or less, a douche.

Yeah The Hot Zone kicked ass. Marburg isn't ebola but it's closely related and almost as deadly.. I think it's lethal in up to 80% of cases. Ebola ranges from 10% lethality for Ebola Sudan to 90% lethality for Ebola Zaire. Man I hope I never get one of those, I'd really hate to have my organs liquify and then crap them out my ruptured GI tract all over the floor. Bad way to go man.
