deadlifting question

lol it sounds physically impossible, until I figured out you meant that they go in front of them.
Is this on the starting out? When you are grabbing the bar, about to pull? Or is this after the lockout? I also have my knees go further out than my toes, because that allows me to have my back straighter.
If you mean lockout- dont be afraid to lean back, and pull the weight back.
Hope that helped.. :/

When I deadlift my knees tend to go past my toes, is this bad?

If you mean at the bottom of the motion before you start your pull?

You may have long femurs which will result in this occuring. Just remember to really try and sit back when you begin the motion to get the knees tracking back over the ankles. This will also line you up for better hip drive to finish your pull with.

it is when the wieght is on the floor. it feels natural, but I just thought I read somewhere your knees shouldn't go past your toes.

Nope, i think it is ok. My knees go past my toes too.

You've probably read it in Muscle and Fiction in the 90s

Yeah people say that shit who don't know dick about deadlifting. Just make sure your first motion gets you knees back when you break the floor with the weight. The only way to dead without your knees coming forward is to switch to sumo deads.
