Deadlift PR

b fold the truth

Elite Strongman
Platinum
Been sick for A WHILE! Don't even want to know what I weigh but it is probably border 260's-270.

Box Squat 5/3/1
Got 3 with 513 + 90 lbs chain on my last set

Deadlifts
630.5 x 1 double overhand grip
770 x 1

Nice lifts!!!

770 is a big DL

Are you doing a 5/3/1 program?

I'm following it as best as I can. I've been sick again for nearly a month and can't keep up on the pressing, especially as my body weight keeps dropping.

So far I'm liking it for a change on lower body (DE) day. Keep what works for you, change what doesn't.

WOW. Just WOW.

Nice work congrats!

I can't figure out if you were about to pass out after the deadlift or you were down on one knee to pray.

I've been sick (can't stay off the toilet sick) for a few weeks so my energy is low. I almost blacked out on the 630 pull but I cut it from the video. In the video I'm on one knee for about a minute but I THOUGHT that it was only for about 5 seconds in my mind...I don't remember it.

My son is sick as well and my wife and I were up all night as he had a high fever and we saw 3 doctors today. No A/C in our house and the Dr's offices didn't have theirs on either and it was in the 130's outside again today.

So yeah...I was about to pass out.

But I always pray before my first heavy set every single session.

That is intense. I usually have to sit down right away after deadlifting heavy, but haven;t got to the point where you loose a minute... then again 770 is also a long ways away too.

If that is what you can do right now when you are sick, imagine what you can do when you are better and have more energy.

hope you and the family get better soon. The heat sucks and makes it that much worse for lifting.

Thanks man.

But don't sell yourself short...whatever your deadlift is...it is just as important as my 770. Someone going balls to the wall with 1 plate per side is just as motivating as seeing 1,000lbs to me.

My best before that was 750 (completely raw) 16 months ago. I haven't tried 770 in 6 months I don't think.

I just said pretty much the same thing in another thread yesterday. But used bench pres as an analogy instead of deadlift.

The PR itself is just as important wether it be 100lbs or 700lbs. If someone has just completed a lift for the first time in his life it is something that deserves a congrats.

But as the numbers go up the impressive factor increases and the number of people that are able to complete that lift decrease.

Basically what is a good/ heavy lift is all relative, but a PR is a PR no matter what weight is on the bar.

770 is a bad ass lift!

I think the key thing to remember is - who are you lifting for? Yourself? or others?

Personally, I don't draw comparisons between myself and ANYONE, even someone with identical stats. Why? Because for me, lifting is personal, not a competition.

Again - respect for the lifts :)

Great job B True! Very inspirational. I'm going to try and start pulling from the floor again next week, hopefully I'll be joining you up there before too long.

Cheers,
Scotsman
