im trying to bulk so with that in mind im doing 3 sets of dead lifts ,heavy weights 6 to 8 reps ...what do u think is that good ?

I dont understand, why dont u dead lift all the time?

oh ya....love deadlifts for building thick back muscles or hams. I usually do 5-6 sets. 3 warmups with considerable weight always working up in weight then i do 2 sets at the heaviest i can do for 6 reps.

Deadlift for sure, it's extremely important in building core strength and You will be stronger on everything else for that matter....as a result of doing Heavy Deads.

I have always done dead lifts rather it be cutting or bulking.

im sorry i must have asked this question in a fucked up way ....i was just asking how manny sets you guys do and how manny reps and i was saying how manny i did and seeing if what i was doing is the best way ....thanks

I keep them in the 4-8 range for about 4 sets or so...But I go as heavy as I can.....Superset them with HyperExtensions for a wicked almost unbearable lower back pump.

OH MAN I HEAR YA. I do Deads heavy but usually my forearms give out before my back so then i do weighted hyperextensions while holding 2 45's. I always feel like the bench/machine whatever?? is going to flip over when i'm bending down to pick them up. That would be embarrassing.

2 45's.....damn thats heavy for hypers...I hope you don't flip over,I get that feeling with a 60lb dumbell.

I usually hit them with a light warm up, then either a 10-8-6-4 or somewhere around that. Deadlifts are awesome, the tightness in the back is no though. It's funny how people at my gym look at you like your crazy or doing something retarded. "Trying to hurt yourself." Fortunately I heard they shut down the powerhouse so now maybe all the juiceheads will come home. I am tired of looking around a crowd of 50 yr. old women and 145# college kids to find a spot.

Hey bro, you should try sumo style deadlifts. They really save your lower back alot of stree, and you get the benefits. I alwys do them sumo style.
