DE Upper, Lower, and Events for good measure.

Exodus

High End Bro
Platinum
well i have been feeling good, but i didnt get any of the pr's for anything that i wanted to get.......... oh well. did me upper friday, and lower with events today.

ME upper
3 Board Press. 355 x 0 / 350 x 0. >sigh< 300 x 3 PR
(it was a 1 rep max, but if i dont get one, then i try a 3 rpm)

Clean and Press (using a continental and a push jerk)
250 x 0 / 250 x 0. i had it up both times. first time when i locked out, i went to far forward and lost ballance. 2nd time same thing but it was going to take me backwards. so i had it but no judge would have counted it. 225 x 5 PR. wahoo!!...lol

nothing else to really speak about.

DE Lower
milk crate box squat - 385 x 0. i hit my sticking point 6 inches off the bottom. 315 x 3 PR.

St leg deadlift - 405 x 0. then 365 x 2(was going for 5) so i ended up with a pr of 315 x 5.

Events:
i did much better with these.
seated on the ground ohp with the log. 4 reps 10 seconds up and to seconds down. i did this to help work with my stabilizers........ man my abs took a beating from these.

tire..... i just deadlifted the tires. i brought them up to the point i would bring my knee up but then came down. 600lb tire x 7 reps. immediately 400lb tire for 7 reps. straight into 200lb tire for 7.

suitcase deadlift hold - 150lbs thick handle farmer for 27 seconds each hand

two handed duck walk hold - 285 for 45 seconds.

well im tired............. lol

365 stiff-legged dl is real good. Nice job! I never go that heavy on sl, worried about tearing a hamstring. I just do 225-275 and focus on form and strectching my hams.

i have extremely tight hammies, i am always stretching them. you may want to try and push up your weight on them, unless you have had an injury before. cause your legs look strong enough to handle more weight...........imo

well lets say the comparison is about between night and day....lol

the first time i went to B true's was on April 12. i managed to clean and press the log 210lbs for 3 reps. took a breather than i went and press 215 on the viking press 9 times.

2 weeks ago i was at clints and i pressed 225 on the viking 14 times(missed 15th). then did another set for 6 reps, not going till failure. then i did 250 for 5(missed 6th). yesterday, i could lockout and hold 250lbs overhead for 1.

too bad, you have to clean and press with the thick bar and not viking. but you will do great, im betting you will win the whole teen division.

oh well great........... yeah you;ll win.........lol belive in yourself, and dont forget the facepaint chalk!!!! i keep freaking too......... but thats becuase i am in the big boys class now.......... all of my lifts just jumped up due to an extra 10 lbs.

viking press - up 25 lbs to 250.
conans wheel - up 100lbs to 600.
yoke - up 100lbs to 650.
duckwalk - up 50lbs to 375-400
sled - up 100lbs to 500
hercules hold - up 50lbs each hand to 300lbs each hand.

only thing that stays the same is the stones..........praise the LORD!!!!!

Good point. I've done 615 for a single and 585 for a double on conventional deads. Plus I don't think judges will dock you for having overdeveloped hamstrings. Maybe I can make it a priority the rest of the year, along with brining up my tri's bi's and delts. I really want to get my arms up to 19 by the spring. That's will be my 4 year training mark. I may try to compete again this spring, so the hams could be useful.

definitely..... hams always loose size on a bodybuilder the more cut he gets........... take ronnie coleman.......... his glutes and hams are the most shredded there are........... but in the offseason they are enormous......... so the bigger you are before you diet down and rip up, the more mass you will hang onto.

I've learned a few things over the past two years doing strongman.

1) Never go for a PR the week before a contest. Missing it can be devistating for your mental outlook on the contest.

2) The last training day before the contest should be a lot of FUN. The only reason for this is if you are in dire need of getting used to the implements or the weights.

good points...........

1) im not that down about them. i did come up with pr's, just not what i hoped. and besides...... i had been watching what i was eating untill friday morning. so i just figured thats where the lack of umph came from.

2) ill do speed work....low volume on monday (upper) and tuesday lower. that worked real well for me in nashville. and when i came up to your house last month.

so im jazzed and just looking to have some fun from here on out........... we have less than a week folks!!!
