i did a new routine today for de lower and man, did those pull thrus kick my butt. my lower back and hams are so tight now.

Box squat(aprox 60% 180lbs) 10 sets of 2
pull thrus (70lb) 8 sets of 12(i love these!!)
pull down abs (130lb) 7 sets of 8
lying leg raises 4 sets of 8
rev hypers 4 sets of 8

all in all had a great workout. first time i've actually used pull thrus in a workout and i loved em.
 
Lookin' good.:) I love pull-throughs as well. They have helped a lot with my deadlift and squats.


I can't believe you guys area all back in the gym already. Hardcore, guys!! I'll be back in Monday. Might need some light support on my knees, though.:(

I plan to go for 525 in 4-6 weeks. I'll definately post that up.:) I'll go for that the week after I get 600 from the knees.:D


All of you guys and gals that were at Bluegrass are so hardcore to be back already. Makes me want to get back that much worse. Inspirational, guys.

thanks guys...yea joker...it killed me waiting all week..i did a light de upper on wed and ill do a me lower and events on sun. but looks like ill have to do farmers,tire flip and sled drag b/c i cant make it to clints this weekend. feels wierd...seems like his driveway has been my home for like the last million sundays. i have one more wk workin out b4 my max week. i cant wait i'm so anxious to see if what my maxes on box squat, deads, and bench are.

ya right about that. time to really gain some strength. i have a long way to go before my next comp. i'm so psyched. i cant wait.

thanks b...atleast someone will get to use it sun;) o well i get to play with my tire for the first time. think its right at 600lbs but to me i thought it felt simialar in weight to your 675lb one. ill find out sunday.:D
 
If my knee feels better...I hope to give 700-800 a run on it Sunday. I also hope to load that 310 stone on the big platform too...

JOker: for me its not harcore to be back in the gym already. i was more used to the events than you were. also i took a whole week off before the contest, so after saturday i was so inspired that i had to get back so soon.

kingc.........i just added pull thru's in to my workout as well. your right they do fry you, it hurts my hamstrings just sitting on them.

thanks man....yea man i really need to work my legs and back hard. my upper back is weaker than my lower back. i need to find a way to hit that good. i was thinking of starting to use face pulls to help w/that. and cant forget my(REALLY need to work on this) ohp;)

yea it is a site;) i've got to see him get real close w/that 415 and that stone is huge. i dont see how someone could even budge that thing much less load it.

i'd like to put power cleans in but how should i do it. should i use it as an accessory moves on de upper? or use it as a main move on me day?

Watching that video... I love how the stone hits the ground with NO bounce or anything.... the damn thing just drops dead on the ground... thats heavy
 
Bfold, if that platform was made of concrete, you would probably put that stone up by leaning it against the platform and rolling it up. You got it high enough I think.

One more thing, what shoes are those? How did you manage to sit so far back without falling over?

I know I can load a normal sized 415 or more...I just know it.

I compete in my New Balance shoes. I have always competed in the same ones and my father actually gave me his old ones (identical) the other day. They are about 3 years old...but I can't spring for a new pair of shoes any time soon. I think I should hit New Balance up for a sponsor...lol.

Doing the stones is similar to the way that Front Squats feel. They are darn near impossible with just the bar...but with weight you can sit way back. With a heavy stone...you can lean way back and the weight of the stone will balance you out.

Cuthbert: Yeah...I never noticed that it didn't bounce...lol. My others do. Just look at the pic from the Bluegrass where JasonA is bouncing my 185...lol... Also notice that when I bend down...the stone is already AT my chest...

king I do it as an accessory, mostly to gain speed of the floor and to get my lower back thick and explosive, plus it hits your trap like mike tyson on a punching bag
 
great job king_c ...you are inspirational as well as many of these other guys. I can't wait to see your progress. Let me just say I did the pull throughs also and they to kicked my butt. My hammys are SCREAMING!!!! Atleast I can sit on mine though...exodus has a time sitting down... lol :P

tinity: thanks alot i appreciate it. am may i say you too are an inspiration. you have alot of heart and dont know how to quit. and let me say my hams are fried today. i can barely walk. this sucks, bc im suppose to do me lower and events tomorow. can you say OUCH

I love them too. I don't go super hard or heavy but I do them to add a little volume into my routine. I really do think that they help with so much and could do wonders for injury prevention too.
