DB farmer walks...How much can u do

dumbell farmers are very hard, i did 256 on farmner implements for 72 feet with one turn this week.

did 120 dumbells for 2 runs of 180 feet, the dumbells are MUCH harder, they roll out of yourhands where farmer implements do not:)

I learned last week that TURNING is NOT EASY!!

...yet!:)

Farmer walk implements: 115lbs for 140ft. (one turn)

With dbs? I've routinely carried 90 and 100lbs in the gym. You know, having to put 'em away for the so-called "big, strong" male trainees who leave 'em lying around on the gym floor. I'd say I've carried 'em for 20-30 ft.

I usually do a fast walk/run for 2 laps around the inside of our gym with 100lb dumbells(heaviest we have),and no chalk. It is 300'+ total.I go for speed when doing these,so once I start to slow down to a normal walk,I sit them down,or hold them.I think starting out using db's alot for farmers walk and deadlift holds helped my grip alot, but didnt carry over for me very well when using heavier weights on farmers implements.

I'm surprised by that one...was there a difference in the size of the grip? Implements being bigger?

There is just a huge difference between holding 130 pound dbells and 250+ farmers. This is also why training with thick handled farmers have little to no carry-over to actual farmers implements.

My grip has always felt solid on the implements from the first time I used them, which I think is partly because I used dumbells, and like the others said, the db's will try to roll out o your hands.I think they helped with the mental aspect of the deadlift hold too.
Like B fold said, heavy farmers implements feel ALOT heavier than using a lighter dumbell. My ability to support the weight with my upper back area, fails before my grip does

My best is 65 feet with 280 on farmers implements, no turns. With a turn... my best is 255 for about 70 feet.
