Man, I had heard about this before but never saw an episode. I watched Friday's episode and damn, I am shocked at the sheer volume of dudes that come to that girl's house thinking she is 13 and hoping to have sex with her.

I'm not disputing whether or not is it wrong, or how sever punishments should be.

I just find it interesting to think about WHY people do this. Its not just dead beat low lifes doing this, its educated professionals from all racial backgrounds and walks of life. There is something inherant to some men that drives this. What is it?

Look at how many men use prostitutes and massage parlors as well, illegal activity that many people are willing to risk despite the health risks as well. Why?

We should seperate sex drive from an unnatural urge to prey on pre-pubescent children though. One is an engrained biological urge and the other is a twisted perversion.

But yes, I agree that this sick perversion seems to hit people from all walks of life. Given the 50%+ recidivism rates, we'd be better off just killing these people and getting their genetics out of our gene pool.

I wonder if there is a genetic compenent to it, or if it somehow learned/taught at an early age.

Fuck man, its crazy to think what people will do. I guess that is why there are so many cases of rape as well.

I see the genetic argument has been brought up.

Society has changed the approach to marraige for some strange reason. Girls nowadays develop faster than they ever have in history.

If they were suitable for reproduction/marriage 300 years ago it would seem they are even more well suited nowadays given increasing development rates.

Just something to think about.

Its no question that sexual drive kicks in at a VERY young age for humans.

But we also know that girls that are 13 are very impressionable and a 50 year old guy fucking her on the side could make things difficult for her for the rest of her life.

What was amazing was that after the show gained some notariety, guys were still going to the 'kid's' house, thinking the whole time that it might be a setup.

one guy brought his 4 year old son, after having very sexually explicit chats with what he thought was a teenage boy.
 
I think that people who have charges like this or worse should have the penelty of councilling.

thats what I was thinking. I know some girls were married and having kids at 14 to much older men. Looks like some guys missed the evolution memo.
 
I find it disturbing that people find this kind of show entertaining. The fact that the TV network is making money from this makes me wonder what details they are leaving out. I wonder what kind of tactics they are really using to set these guys up. I suspect there's more going on than what they choose to show on TV.

IMO, I think that the show here is not for entertainment as much as it is to show people how serious the problem is. Some people just dont have a clue.

I don't know if councilling will do anything. To change a person's taste in what type of person they are attracted to is like trying to change what their favorite food is. If someone's favorite food is lobster, you aren't gooing to persuade them to crave roast beef over lobster with counseling. Whatever the hell they see in little kids, I don't know, but if thats how they are, thats probably how they will always be. Sexual orientation, I think is what they call it. It would be like trying to change someone homo to hetro.
It is pretty shocking to see how many were showing up tho. Makes you think about how many people out there actually think this way. I just can't see how someone would choose a underdeveloped little kid over a sexy, curvy sensual full-grown woman. Or how someone would want some hairy dude's stink ass over a hot woman and her beautiful punany and big babylons, for that matter.
