I sometimes straighten my hair, but the other day used this super large curling iron on the front (side swept bangs, for all you wimmins and pick3) so it wouldn't lay flat on my forehead like juiceddreadlock's nutsack.

I don't know what happened, exactly, but it slipped a little and smacked me across the bridge of my nose and unfortunately... my eyelid.
It was a split second, but I heard that distinct hissing sound.

I filled a baggy with ice and sat on the couch for an hour with it on the bridge of my nose. My husband came home and saw me and started laughing and said, "oh... i can't WAIT to hear this one."

the ice helped. the bridge of my nose may not scab- it's darker and scaly, but i can cover it with makeup.
My eyelid though... is peeling and raw.

this shit better clear up before I start my new job on monday. I don't need them knowing exactly how accident prone I am.

addendum: my hair looked awesome for the rest of the day. i'm totally doing that again.

lol poor baby. I have burned my head and ear plenty of times. I can't believe you got your nose. Take pics!! :)

Just don't forget to unplug it! I would constantly be turning around if my girl and I went somewhere. "Omg I left the curling iron on! We have to turn around." only to find out she didn't leave it plugged in. Happened once a month untill I bought her one that auto shut off.

She never burnt her face though hehe.

I also do this. I have one of those chi flat irons and I am always turning around because I cant remember if I've turned it off or unplugged it.

I have to run my hand over the socket and say the word unplugged out loud. Now that has turned into three times before i leave each morning.................. :worried:

but yeah. I have the sidewept bangs too and I understand burnt foreheads. not really eyelids...lol that must suck

it does hurt a bit today.
I used emu oil on it last night and that helped a LOT. now the spot between my eyes looks more like a shadow and my hair covers my eye, mostly. or enough to not have it be seen easily.

i always unplug my hair things and don't even use them that often, but my bangs were doing that stupid thing where they were going in one direction and then the other and i couldn't fix them.

gah.. the things i do to look beautiful... *sigh*

You women are accident prone. I was talking to a friend the other day and she told me she got laundry soap in her mouth while she was doing laundry:confused: Can one of you girls explain how the fuck this might happen???? How the fuck do you get laundry soap in your mouth:confused:

Oh, that's an easy one.
you pour the soap, which gets on your hand. then you wipe the hair out of your mouth with the same hand and VIOLA!

what about those times when you're pouring the laundry detergent into the wash basin, and you get a sudden burst of thirst - so you take a sip, and VOILA!

Seriously you don't need to do anything to look beautiful because you already do.

Get it and forget it.

How's the eye?
Ouch.
:(

Oh, hell... i've had that one forever.
I like it better than the chi.

i use a huge barrel iron on the front though, or it's so straight that it clings to my face.

kinda like what the curling iron did. :(

the eye is okay.. it's getting better.
