Curiosity out of newbie's head

I do both. I trained one part a week for a few months. Now I am back to twice a week for each part. I like to do different things so my body doesn't adapt!

I'm yet to start my first cycle, I'm curious about something, I can't find this as I research; when I train now and go heavy I'll be sore for 5 days or so. When you're on a cycle, is recovery so much faster to the point that you can work the same muscle again a couple of days later? That's a dumb question, but it's genuine.
Do you guys all work a same muscle groups 2 or 3 times a week?

Not a dumb question at all....for me personally it would be overkill to try and train each bodypart 2-3 x a wk. I don't seem to have that much difference in recovery time when on or off. Pros will often workout 2x a day. I usually do:

Mon. chest
Tues. back
Weds. off
Thurs. shoulders/tris
Fri. legs/bis
Sat.-Sun. off

Keeps my workout time down and gives me plenty of rest. Let's me hit tris/bis 2x a wk and major body parts 1x a wk. I do mostly fly movements for shoulders so I don't overload my tris. cardio and abs I throw in a few times a wk but all depending on how I'm feeling that day.
Once again.....I don't feel that my recovery time is much quicker when on but everyone will respond differently and different AAS's will effect you differently. Train smart, eat, rest.

Sore for 5 days? How long have you been lifting for?

Almost two years! 5 days is the max, average 3-4 days, towards the end of those days if i press on the muscle I can still feel a little soreness deep in there.

You shouldn't be sore for that long. How does your diet look? Are you getting enough protein?

About 1-1.5 grams per lb; in a day around 250 grams, give or take. But right now I"m not taking anything else except whey, no creatine or glutamine. I've done some PH and NO2 and they sped up my recovery, that's why I'm asking, I feel that if these products made a dif, gear might be double + and would that lead me to want to train a body part 2 or 3x a week. In the end it all comes down to me wanting to grow more, as much as possible, so it's that natural line of thinking "train more", so one thinks if you recover faster, means you're growing faster, means you can train more. But right now I"m training each body part once a week.

It's a double edge sword being on AAS. Sometimes I notice an increase in the amount of volume and recovery from my training. And I also have had such insane muscle pumps early on in my workouts that I couldn't finish training that day. The pain would drive me out of the gym. I know alot of you Bros can attest to that!

i have a 3 day routine then 1 day of rest and it works great for me. never get too sore that it bothers me and my strength/size keeps going up.

For me personally, my tendons limit me to doing each body part once a week. In my first 2 years of lifting I could do each part 2 times a week. As my goals of being stronger and bigger were being met, my tendons didn't like the 2 times a week. However I am extremely unflexible. I've worked on flexibility for 2 years, its gotten better, but the damage was done. Look at your goals and evaluate if your body can handle 2 times a week. Don't be afraid to take a week off a couple of times a year. Over train put me out for 8 months with terrible shoulder problems. 6 months of physical therapy and 2 grand later I was able to get serious again. good luck

sounds like your kinda new to it. so that being the case i wouldn't juice untill you had been at it for at least 6 steady months. i have had some serious shoulder problems some of which comes from trying to be too strong too quick. you also have to get a feel for your own body. this will come with continued lifting. i have a lot of mass on a small frame. tendons can't keep up with how fast i gain strength. this limits me to about 4 times per week and basically one body part per day. if i am on then i can add a few more sets and maybe put arms on a 5 day. so this is the thing depending on what you decide to take you will get strong fast and if you don't rest and eat you will tear something.. hope this helps..

That's exactly what I was thinking you shouldn't be sore for longer then two days if you are an experienced lifter three at most.
