Creatine

thanks guys!! I'll check for creatine monohydrate.

Also, are there any side effects to taking creatine? I have heard that some people's bladders don't respond well to it, and that you need to drink a lot of water (won't be a problem) or you can easily become dehydrated.

Dude you may not realize it but you were like 5 7 185 or less before and now you are like 200-205. I guarantee that is probably a lot to do with creatine.

Um, or it could be to do with lifting heavy ass weights and eating loads? Creatine raises ATP levels, it gives the user a slight increase in gym performance but there is nothing anabolic about it per se. And yes some people experience water retention but this is just a side effect, not the purpose of it. And not everyone will experience this (I didn't)

Creatine will give you a small boost, you may notice it or you may not. But saying that somebody gained 20lbs purely from taking creatine is just absurd.

Where in the fuck did I say it was purely from taking creatine? I had the same thing, I gained 20 pounds after I started creatine. Most people gain at least 10-12 pounds of water retention that they lose when they stop taking it. I personally didn't lose any weight when I stopped taking it for a month. Of course me didn't gain all of his 20 pounds from creatine, but it is likely he did gain a good amount of water weight.

Jdid: Yeah drink at least 100 ounces of water a day, preferably a full gallon. I often feel thirsty because I don't drink enough and am on creatine, and I'll literally drink a gallon in an hour. Stay hydrated throughout the day:)

Wow to gain that much weight would be crazy. Did you guys notice if your lifts went up/down and how significantly after starting creatine?

Yeah... i am going to have a shit ton of water :) not sure if you're exaggerating on a gallon per hour, but thats way too much bro.

Alright thanks a lot!

EM: I am saying a lot of your weight is water weight, as I would hope it is. The average human is 60-70% water.

i know this but read again and i said water weight from creatine, ie my weight gain was just the creatine making me hold more water and making me weigh more.

would be pretty cool if when I stop the creatine I drop back down to the 190s if I keep my strength...

You said (paraphrased): "Extra Mile gained 20lbs and this had a lot to do with creatine". But in reality it had a lot more to do with his diet. Creatine will have had a small effect, and even then the weight he gained "from creatine" will all have been water so it's arguably not even worth mentioning! And I would be shocked if somebody gained 12lb in water weight just from taking creatine. Maybe I'm just weird but I only ever gain 2-3lb in water when I use creatine. Although I drink about 10 litres of water a day anyway so I'm probably minimizing water retention as it is.
