So I changed my fb profile picture to a shot of a guy friend/work colleague showing me how to use his UW camera (that produced my most recent round of pictures) and within TEN MINUTES I get a text from this girl we both know, "What is going on with you and _______?"

I tell her nothing but friendship and working together from time to time, and she tells me she and him are "more than dive buddies" and she doesn't like my fb profile picture(that he's barely even in) and she wants me to take it down. I lied to her to set her at ease and tell her I'm seeing someone else pretty seriously.

This same girl a few months ago sent our mutual friend a book length facebook PM confessing all her dark secrets because she had gotten into a fight with someone else he knew and she was afraid that OTHER person would reveal it all to him. He and I chatted on the phone after all that and lolled at her high school-ish drama.

If he's involved with her now, he's keeping it secret and just in it for the sexy time. Most of me wants to stand clear and let him dig his own hole with her, part of me wants to warn him that the girl is getting a little on the crazy side.

Thoughts? Stand clear of the destruction or warn him? I've known him for a few years and he's one of my better friends within the industry.

She's got access to too much of my personal info lol....she works for a gym I have membership with.

I've had history with this guy in the past but it's not even remotely relevant at this point. I think her head would explode if she even knew that much.

Oh just stand clear, I wouldn't get involved. She is trying to mark her territory, and maybe he's OK with that.
 
You're not doing anything wrong and it doesn't seem like you are very close with this broad so i'd just continue on with what you're doing and ignore her requests.

She was marking her territory before there was anything going on and he was super weirded out by it (he brought me along to a few things he did with her and others as a buffer)....and from what I know of him, he's not going to be ok with it now either.

I'm prob gonna stand clear because I don't want to get involved in her drama, but there's no chance they are on the same page lol.

Ah, well that's different. It doesn't really matter then, it just depends on whether you want to mess with her or not. It could be amusing, it could be tiresome, it could be a can of worms. ;)

lol, def a can of worms. I'm not gonna say anything to him this time around...but he and i are doing two classes over the next two weeks and these pictures are gonna keep popping up. If she keeps freaking out about it, I'm gonna have to say something just to preserve my own sanity.

I'd say it, if he's a friend or someone I just care about I'd stir him away from crazy, I onc had something similar happen to me on FB, I literally wrote something like "Well hello there ^_^" and this woman started asking me how I knew him and why I was flirting with him, I told her I was married and we were just friends and she started calling me a cheating whore and telling me to back off her man and I was like WTF, I had to block her... I did tell him cuz he's a good bro and I wanted to warn him of the insanity, specially since I feared she was gonna try to rip him a new one over it so it was also a heads up to him.

an lol side note....back when she was just crushing on him and not secretly getting crushed by him she posted a facebook profile picture that was originally of her, this guy, and another guy, and she cropped out the third guy to make it look like it was just her and him.

LOL this occurred to me too. I give him so much shit about his hair. Till one night he and i went out for drinks and no less than three attractive girls came up and stuck their hands in it. Then I understood why he hadn't cut it in a year lol. I still think it's completely absurd looking, though.

This is the same type of girl we were talking about the other day, who probably updates her relationship status after every fight and cries if a guy doesn't want to take the relationship public on FB. Haha.

Girls are crazy and possessive. My last ex (you know the one) was seeing this girl before he and I had ever gotten together. She wasn't his gf or anything really besides someone he was casually dating/screwing and he and I were nothing but friends at the time. Long story short, she was soooo FB possessive. The first time I wrote on his wall I literally said "Hey buddy" and in the same minute she legit blew his shit up with "hey baby can't wait to see you again" and "I had such a great time last night" lol

She got so crazy that for example, the next time she went to his house she saw the initial "m" on the scoreboard next to his darts and went off on him, saying why was he hanging out with me yadda yadda (didn't even make sense, I have no M's in my name lol)

Her crazy pushed him away faster than you can say "clinger".

Lot of women get into just sex relationships and try to turn it into more the hard/ possessive way, kinda like this chick, acting like she's his GF because she wants to be, what's funny is even if I am someone's GF I still wouldnt play these childish games, if I have a problem with something I'll discuss it with my BF face to face and not embarrass anyone on FB, specially myself.

Yes, she's a little wacky, but I have NEVER been a subscriber to the "oh, it's just Facebook! tee hee!" cop-out. It's a means of communication. You all do very deliberate things on there, you KNOW who is looking and you do it b/c you want a reaction. So, any move you make on Facebook is the same as what you say on the phone or talk about at a party. It's all communication. And you look at the amount of time and effort most of you put into FB, it's probably a significant means of communication at that. In general. Maybe not in this instance. I'm rambling and getting off course.

The picture is of me and a camera, with maybe 15% of his face in it. You can barely tell who he is for how little he's in the picture. Now was there something deliberate behind the picture? Of course. But not because he was barely visible. My thought process was, "I need to update this picture, I'm still using the same one from last year....almost all my recent ones are of me post-diving (gross). Here's one from pre-diving that's not bad. I'll use that."

As for your bet, I already conceded that he and I have history - but it's that. History. We dated for a couple of months a few years ago and nothing since. That said, I'm not going to say I can't understand a girl with a reason to stake her claim getting legitimately threatened by my friendship with him. We still have a very natural cadence and ease with each other that implies intimate closeness. I've had Christmas dinner with his family and his parents treat me like one of the clan whenever they see me.

Because of this dynamic, if he were to start seeing a girl seriously, or I were to start seeing a guy, I'd keep my distance just out of respect. But all of that is irrelevant given that no sort of relationship whatsoever exists between them (I met up with him and a friend of his for dinner last night and I saw the entire stream of texts from her from the last couple of months....omg the crazy) and she's either living in fantasy land or was outright lying to me to make sure I knew she had made claim lolol.
