Cracking body!

I have this habit of cracking my neck all the time. If I don't, it feels really tight. Recently, my hip (at least I think it is) and my lower back has been popping...mind you, none of this hurts, but it is a little freaky. My knees crack and pop everytime I take a step upstairs (I used to be a softball catcher). Most stretching will result in several pops and cracks throughout my body...

What's up with that?! And is it bad/a sign of something wrong?!

I do it ALL the time. My neck gets some freaky ass looks from people. Haha. As far as I know (which may not be much, mind you), as long as you hear it cracking, it means you have an abundance of fluid in there. Which is good.

A friend of mine used to crack his neck all the time, probably once every couple of hours with a snapping left to right and back motion like tossing his head back and forth. Two weeks ago, he had to see a spinal specialist because his chiro believed that may have caused the disappearance of an air pocket near a vertebrae. His condition could lead to arthritis, so he has had to stop that practice, and it might be wise for you to as well.

Man, I may be in trouble then. I pop everything all the time. When I crack my neck though, I don't snap it like that. I just kind of turn my head. Been doing it since I was a young kid. So far no ill side effects.

as long as its not hurting i dont think theres anything to worry about. i think its a problem if your joints are stiff and they don't pop back in place.

I am a human popcorn machine....

sitting in a chair all friggin day sometimes all I have to do is stand up for an enjoyable medley of cracks and pops....

I've read a few times that it is a myth that any of this causes arthritis. I crack my back, shoulders, neck, fingers, toes, elbows, hip etc. I can't seem to help it!

It's (usually) harmless gas bubbles in your joint fluid. Some people have a tendancy to pop a lot while others can very little. It's not an issue if there is no pain involved.

I used to be able to do that all the time and now my neck is so thick I couldnt crak it wih a tire iron

i can crack my knuckles if i make a fist and do it all the time, no problems yet so...wouldn't worry about it too much. i could be wrong though LOL

I crack my wrists and that is about it. Usually I can do it by just moving my hand in a circular motion with my forearm held in place. I do it to keep my wrists loose because I set at a computer all day.

My back has been bothering me a lot lately, and I have noticed that it is now popping every morning when I get out of bed. Now that I think is a problem and am going to go see a chiro about it. Its usually kind of painful until it pops and then it feels a little better.

I know what you mean! I can totally do the "Blade" thing and crack my neck just by turning my chin up...eek!

At least I'm not the only freaky-popping-and-cracking person out there! I was just worried about what this may mean...other than the fact that ther is air between my joints (or whatever)!

I have lost the cracking in my fingers! I have cracked my fingers so much that I can't make them crack anymore! Scary!

Can also "click" my wrist, shoulder, elbow, toes and knees after sitting still for some time. And my neck cracks as hell if i tighten my muscles a little and turn my head anyway..
