Cop caught on tape hitting teen girl in altercation

I know a trooper that shot and killed a dood that hook punched him. Said he started losing consciousness and seeing stars. Cleared by D.A. and department. If he had been knocked unconscious, suspect had access to gun, radio, vehicle. A well articulated cop can do almost anything he wants. You start throwing punches at cops, you start putting your life at risk.

putting your hands on a cop is not a bright thing to do. if i shoved that cop, i'd probably have gotten a lot more than a punch. she's lucky she only got popped.

I hate to say it but the cop was just acting in a way to diffuse the situation fast

yes they were female but they both seem to be bold enough to fight him, thus it was a threat of 2 against one

again hate to say it, cus I am very pro rights for people, but I can see the cops point of view to stop it fast

Pro-Rights for people? That has NOTHING to do with it...seeing as the COP has the right to NOT be attacked by 2 people at once. Just because he is a cop doesn't mean he doesn't have rights. If anything the pro-rights for people should be that the COP should NOT get in any trouble because he was WELL within his rights.

I hold cops and other to a higher threshold

they are professionals, and have all kinds of tools to diffuse a situation.

So when they go straight for force it makes me wonder if they could try other tools

Would you rather he swings at her, sprays her in the face with a couple thousand BTUs of mace, Tazes her, or choke slams her on the ground and puts a knee in her back?

That man has a gun and all types of other things on him that when being pushed and attacked by TWO people, women or not, are at risk of being taken or used against him.

I dont know how people would have wanted this to go down any differently.

Most cops would tell you that punching someone in the face is an absolute last resort; he probably should have kicked her feet out from under her, or snagged one of her arms and judo thrown her to get her on the ground after she pushed him. I think he'll be ordered to do a use-of-force workshop to learn the usual moves better, so that the next time he's in that situation he doesn't think punch first.

You're forgetting there was a second person attacking. To sweep and then hold down, would have left him open to a secondary attack from the other person.

I think its funny, A WHOLE BUNCH of girls on my FB are deleting people that are taking the cop's side because they are claiming it's VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN...Give me a fucking break...Just let the lil' hoodlums attack cops and do nothing about it...GTFO

People shouldn't put themselves into a position where they MAY be assaulted by a cop. People getting beatup by cop has been going around for decades - and it will not change. The media only helps in helping people sue the city - but it does not fix "cop brutality".

INstead, people should worry more about criminals in their cities. People get shot and killed every day here by thugs - no one says shit. I guess they're okay if they're being killed by gangs, but a punch by a cop - that's riot material!

It's a matter of common sense and decency, I dont think I'd ever run away, even less touch an officer, I have tremendous respect towards them and what they do and I know doing that will only make the situation worse, that and I dont wanna end up in cops or the internet
