Contest update

Wow. That's about all I can say about this weekend. I got my ass handed to me by the middleweights that showed up in Panama City. It was my first time competing in the open division, so I was expecting to be humbled, but I was thinking I would still do OK. I didn't even place. I got 6th out of 12. There was a dude that is 5'1" with arms that are no less than 20" and he got 3rd. There were some variables that came into play that may have prevented me from looking my absolute best, but the bottom line is, I have a long way to go. I just thought I'd let ya'll in on how things went. BTW Gunther looked great as the guest poser.

did you touch gunters wierd squigly vien in his leg by his knee?
No pics, maing. I went down there by myself so I was doing good the have someone help me with my tan. I'm gonna by a video, so maybe there will be a good close-up of his squigly vein.

Congrats bor! Very respectable placing for your first open contest.

Excellent!

It takes a lot of balls to compete, always a learning experience!

:)

(This thread is useless without pics)

Well, I definitely learned alot. I'm still waiting on my pics from my B'ham show, so I'll post those up when they come. I plan to compete again in July (maybe) then it will be at least a year before I compete again. Next time I plan to be around 190lbs contest ready. Should be a different story to tell then.

Still awesome work! Did you ride your bike down there like you said??
Thats the one thing im worried about when im gonna start competing.. being tall (6'2.5") isn't great for bodybuilding.
Keep it up!

good work onerep, you got balls to go up on stage, learn from the mistakes you made this time and kick some ass in your next competition:)

Good job anyways bro- you still did better than half... you will know what to expect next time and do good I am sure...

Yeah I did ride my bike down. It was awesome! I was gonna make another thread about that. The way home though, for the first 100 miles, it was rainy and windy and I was miserable, but it got better. I put 700 miles on my bike this weekend. It was pretty cool.

I weighed 172 for this show. I think if I can go to a show and be in shape at 190 pounds, I should be able to wreck some people's hopes. It's kind of funny, the Birmingham show, I won, but was pissed. This show I got my ass kicked, but it's cool. It was a first class show, well organized and handled. I thought everything was fair. I'm not discouraged at all, just a little dissapointed. I thought I would have a little better showing than I did. But hey, that's why this is a sport. I can't wait to start re-building and see where I can go. Thanks for all the words everyone. I'll post pics as soon as I get them. Won't be any from this show, but from my last one a few weeks ago.

Just remember, everyone from Arnold to Coleman to Peyton Manning to the lowest paid punter in the NFL has had their ass handed to them more than once in their lives.
