Considering Returning to the Arts

I practiced martial arts for a while several years ago, but, it kind of faded out of my daily routine as time went on. I'm considering returning to a disipline of the martial arts of some kind, soon. I'm not sure which, though. Years ago I got my start in Shotokan and Aikijitsu. I did both for about 3-4 years but stopped. I'm not interested in competition anymore, just the art. So, the question is, "Which martial art to return to?" I know this is a personal decision that only the individual can make, but, I would appreciate everyone's different points of view on the topic.

As always, it depends on what you are looking for.... I myself was in a similar situation and thankfully started up in aikido. Its great, and I have noticed an increase in flexibility in my arms and legs - 7 years of heavy lifting does make you alot stiffer.

PM me if you want any more info.

it depends on what schools are around you and there schedule as well as what you like and dont like

you might want something new. you might want something familar. you might want striking or grappling..

anyone let me suggest judo!

its a life long safe sport and it is lots of fun. you will meet great people and have a good time. you will learn self defense ground fighting and takedowns/throws, chokes, armbars. you can pretty much go at it 100% after only a few weeks and have lots of fun where other arts it is going to take a long while before you can 'spar'. you will get a good workout and get in better shape without even trying..

gosh i could go on but i am obviously biased.. but that doesnt mean im lying.

any questions just ask!

good luck
