hi all, im at the start of a 3 month plan, for my holidays,im eating 5-6 meals a day and doing weight 2-3 times a week, i always thought running was the best form of cardio for burning fat in the quickest time, but ive read a few posts on here were people dont think treamills are the best way to shed fat, if so then what is, ive been and bought a treamill aswell,is walking the same distance on a treadmill as effective as running.

any form of cardio will work... the key is to "listen to your heart"... so go get a heart-rate monitor, you want to keep at least above 70% of your Maximal heart rate (220-your age).

the more you train, the higher you can get, until you are at about 80%. Some will argue that cardio this hard will burn muscle, to tone it down to a more 65% level or to do HIIT... fact remains "cals in vs cals out", the more cals you burn the more weight (and if done correctly, mostly fat) you will lose.

the one thing you need to keep in mind: running (specially if you are heavy now) will stress your joints, to the point where you could injure yourself if you don't do it properly... maybe for this reason alone people love the ellypticals

just finnished my run.I allways feel like I have acoplished something big when Iam don.

Do what you can and what interests you. For me starting out dieting this year, I could do one lap around my soccer field by my house before I had an asthma attack. Needless to say for about a month or so I had to stick with low intensity jogging. However I'm now doing like 15 sprints across the length of the field with a minute's rest between each one. That to me is fun, not slow jogging around the track.

I cant run for shit because of this same exact reason....hey try swimming if you have access to a pool....a few freestyle laps will definitely kick your ass, your whole body is in action.

yeah i love the elliptical we bought. I used to be a really heavy a few years back and was heavy my whole life actually up until i was 15 and between the weight and playing football and a biking accident...my knees officially hate me. I have been incorporating running outside again though because I'm getting bored with just the ellip.
