Concerned about my bizarre recent weight gain

In two weeks my pants have gone from fitting me fine around the waist to not fitting me at all. When this happened I checked my weight and I weighed 20 lbs more than I typically do. I don’t think I’ve changed anything in my eating, exercising or sleeping that could cause this. I’m not taking any medications, so that isn’t the cause either. I’m a 29 year old ectomorph. I included pictures that I took of the changes. I don't think my photos look like someone whose waist has gone from a 32 to almost a 36 in a few weeks. This weight gain was so sudden, and so different than anything I've experienced that I'm concerned that there might be a larger medical issue behind it. If anyone has insight on what could have caused this I'd greatly appreciate it.

only thing i could think of is hypothyroidism. this could cause rapid weight gain and is does occur quite normally.

obviously you'd have to go to a doctor for any real answers.

Go have your thyroid checked bro before you gain 100lbs. That's the most likely the cause from just shooting the shit over the internet. For a concrete respose have your doc do a full blood panel

My girl had the same problem, and it was hell till she found the right dosage for her meds. She could gain wt by just looking at food. Finally now she started to lose weight fairly easy

It's weird how your body can turn on you just like that....did you ever messed around with any T3 or T4 medication?

its funny because i have hypothyroidism and yet don't gain weight. i also have ibs and a fast metabolism though. maybe that offsets it lol.

Is your neck swollen at all under your jaw?

Thyroid self-check:

Hold the mirror so that you can see the area of your neck just below the Adam's apple and right above the collarbone. This is the general location of your thyroid gland.

Tip your head back, while keeping this view of your neck and thyroid area in your mirror.

Take a drink of water and swallow.

As you swallow, look at your neck. Watch carefully for any bulges, enlargement, protrusions, or unusual appearances in this area when you swallow.

Repeat this process several times.

If you see any bulges, protrusions, lumps or anything that appears unusual, see your doctor right away. You may have an enlarged thyroid, or a thyroid nodule, and your thyroid should be evaluated

Thanks for the great advice guys. I have never used T3 or T4, and I'm not on any medications. I did the thyroid self-check, and I did not notice anything unusual when I swallowed. I did notice that I have an odd bump on my neck about a centimeter to the right of my Adam's apple.

That's probably it. Go to your doc now!
