i didn't read the whole thread so maybe someone already asked this, but if you are running wireless how are you operating at 100mbps? the oldest wireless technology is 11mbps and if im not mistaken 802.11g will hit 54mbps? (but don't quote me on that)

I have two computers. The one I am on now is is the main computer that is hardwired to the router through the modem.

The one I am having trouble with is wireless and is in another room and that one is running at 11.0mbps.

I've tried about everything offered on this thread so far but without luck.

I can relate HumorMe.

I feel like a fossil at times. Everybody just expects me to be able to do all these things with a computer. Thye frustrate me greatly at times.

I've installed all of those things on that computer and no change.

Can someone come over and open a second story window for me?

Now I'm wondering if it's your wireless connection.

Do you have a normal (wired) connection available for the computer that isn't working? Pluging into the router with a wired connection would trouble shoot that pretty quick. Heck, move the brokee computer next to the other one might trouble shoot the situation.

Try this...

START - RUN, type "CMD" then enter.

type in "ping www.cnn.com"

it should ping without any problems. If it shows dropped packets, you might have an issue with the wireless connection.

BTW, did you buy any new cordless phones lately (like when this problem started happening) Anything running on 2.4 GHZ in the house?

First, do not download the drivers off the cd that came with it.

Second, go to your Crogram Files and erase file "Router" if you did.

Third, unplug modem and router and then let them power up and connect.

Fourth, let XP find all the connections automatically. The drivers on the CD
can interfere with this.

Fifth, go to linksys.com and download the newest flashwear for that model router which has some AOL fixes I believe.

If you are lazy, you might try the flashwear upgrade first. It might solve the problem by itself.

Have you tried following DVDA's advice?

That's strange because we got a cordless phone for Christmas but didn't hook it up until a couple of months ago when we started having trouble. I will try that.

Yes, it sucks right now for my kids.

Mine is running fine.

Try this...

I just did this....

Ping statistics for 64.236.16.20;
Packets sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4(100% loss)

Yeah, check this aspect out as it might be sliming your wireless connection.
