Computer people...jnuts, dial tone, etc.....

If worse comes to worse, just do a reformat and reinstall XP from scratch. Back in the '98 days a reformat was a nightmare, but XP makes it fairly easy.

But this would be your last option, try everything else first.

Hmmm....

Your computer is working fine, but their computer is not.

Is the only thing not working good on their computer the internet access? Is everything else snappy when it tries to run?

Yes, everything else seems to run fine.

Internet explorer runs but is slow(super slow) and AOL just plain won't sign on.

Download Adware with your good computer and install it on your bad one.

You also might want to try using a different browser as IE might be wacked. Try to download and install

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

(you'll need to download on the good machine)

At this point, I'm not sure if you have some nefarious software or if it's a networking thing. I'm inclined to think bad software because this wasn't a problem for you until recently.

I have already downloaded mozilla onto my good computer. It won't fit on a disk but would it fit onto a CD?

I'm thinking software also but what do I know!?! Not shit I tell you!:)

What if I have already installed Spybot? Will that pose a problem?

I have never used spybot, but I would say no.

There are people who use both for double protection. They claim that although both programs perform similarly each catches things that the other one doesn't.
