Is it illegal to use a neighbors open wiFi?? I'm trying to download a season of a show called Top Gear (British car show) and I could be down loading on my computer and using my other computer to download using the neighbors wireless network. A season is about 5-6 GB so it takes me like 12 hours to down a whole season. Running two at a time would speed things up a lot.
It's illegal but the chances of being prosecuted for it are beyond remote. My ipod connects to someone else's wlan sometimes even though I have my own. I don't always check and they'd have to prove I did it with malicious intent.
yes it's illegal and yes it's traceable...and no they won't notice unless you're downloading terrabytes of data. Who the hell doesnt have a password on their wireless access? i want to live next to your neighbor
I have one choice for a provider. I live in a fairly rural area and have no choices for cable, phone or internet all the same company. 5 down and 500 KB up is the top tier unless I want to get a T1. Bit over kill on that. On the bright side my ISP could care less what I do with my connection.

That's what I do but what I'm after doesn't have many sources and that's a problem in it's self. Right now I have one down loading at a blistering 240 Kbs average, which for me is fast for this sort of thing.
