My computer is hooked up through a wirless router which is located in my office room two rooms away. My computer receives through a Network Adapter 802.11b. The computer in my office is directly connected to the router with Cat5e UTP. The wirless router is connected to the cable modem. I am connecting a printer to the computer in my office and want to know how I can also use that printer through my computer. Do I need to add an adapter to the printer or is it something with the configuration of the OS that will allow me to communicate with the printer through my computer? Both PC's are running Windows XP Professional. Any help appreciated.. Thankls :)

You need a WAP! Wireless Access point for device sharing.

true, but through the OS he can allow the printer to be shared, just as long as one of the printers is physically attached to one of the computers.

Going through the OS I would think that you need to creat a new network connection between the wired and wireless machines. Use the network wizard, several on here have tried and succeded or failed.

Thanks. Should I go to the network wizard and create a new network through the PC that is physically connected or does it even matter? Thanks for the help bro;s!

Each of the machines need to be connected to the same named network - if you are a home user, you can just use the "workgroup" connection and name it something that you like - I'm partial to "fuckerbabies".

Then once both of those have joined that network, you want to make sure that they both have file and printer sharing enabled.

Once you have done that, you should be able to right click on the printer in the printer menu of the computer that the printer is physicall connected to and choose to share it from that menu.

Then on the other computer, you can go to the printers menu and choose to add a printer and in the menus that come up for that, choose to add a networked printer.
Leave the thing empty and move to the next screen and it will search the network for you for other computers that are sharing printers.
Once it finds your other machine, then click on that and you will see the printer under that.
Select that printer and it will let you install that - you will possibly need drivers for it if your system doesn't have them built in.

After that, you can then select to print documents to that printer and as long as the other machine is on, it will print on that machine.

that was all from memory and I'm swamped at work right now - but you are having issues, keep posting up and I will if I can offer any help.
