Computer geeks i need help!

okay so i bought a new laptop... but i always programs running like msn and what not...but when i put the screen down it all turns off..and i get signed out of msn...is there way to get past that..i know my other laptop did it..id put the screen down and itd be all good... \\\

if it helps its a hp G60-126CA

go to control panel go into power options / advanced and set it to do nothing with screen closed

this would fix it if your laptop is completely tunign off

You'd probably want it to go to Standby.

Standby should keep your IP address reserved and keep your browser convinced it's still connected.

Beware of "Hibernate" and what some computers call "Sleep". Those can be deeper and involve loss of certain state-specific data.
