Computer companies to order from...help

I'd vote Dell too. You can save some money by doing the component thing, but that can sometimes create problems.

I built my own, but my PC still sits on my floor with the case off. :)

I never leave it together for any length of time, but that's just me.

I have a Dell...good computer but I had a hell of a time with customer service...they handled my file very unprofessional and in turn left me quite mad.

future shop, staples for online shopping. I would personnaly go with a clone, a lot cheaper and just as good!

Someone may have already mentioned this but Dell sells factory refurbs on their site and I bought one back in February. Mine is a laptop and I went ahead and got the 3year 24 hour replacement with it----I have been nothing but happy with it.

Dell offers the total package---Quality-Service-Competitive Pricing.

Check out them refurbs and get a good price break!

Just build your own, if you need instructions i can help you out.

You can save about $600 and you can have all the top of the line stuff.Look i;ll show you.

and a cd-rw and enlight 7237 case ( which i have myself)

It would cost $1700 to buy this at the min

yeah, but he can probably salvage his monitor, C: drive & D: drive/cd burner from his current computer. that will cut $340 off his costs.

fuck, if he gets an athlon 1.2-1.4Ghz instead of a P3 1Ghz that will cut another $100 of the total cost.

'hey jeepers, check this shit oooouuuuuuuttttt'

compaq will send people right to your door if the system is still under warranty! Dell, Compaq, IBM, Gateway, Toshiba, NEC, Sony, HP, they all make great home PC's. If you want to really search for a name brand deal with warranty..go to

www.insight.com

or

www.cdw.com

Both of these companies are HUGE resellers of hardware and software. Call and ask a rep if they have any good deals..Sometimes they run refurb deals.

Yea he can save a ton of money by building it ur self.
I have found the intel chips work better for multple apps, i guess it depends on what you use it for.

yeah. personally, i plan to keep the stuff that doesn't need updating (monitor, NIC, cable, mouse, keyboard, etc.) and sell the shit that is out of date on ebay, then replace it with parts from pricewatch or ebay.

i can probably get $100 for my CPU, motherboard, RAM & video card. $300-350 will get me a newer model CPU, motherboard, RAM, video card & case. $250 for an up to date (essentially) system instead of this constantly freezing thing.

Do yourself a favor..

Buy the parts and build your own computer. You'll get a better computer for half the price.

Check out http://www.compgeeks.com

All you need are the following:

motherboard
cpu
memory
hard disk
video
sound
floppy
cd/dvd
monitor
accessories.

If you dont want to build it, you can still get a clone.
