let's see if you can forgo a little bit of money and take some action against some plat members, I don't even need to mention who I am talking about, either disable their k or ban them............or possibly a time out, do you have any principles or is it just all about the bottom line?
 
why fuck with the members, why not change the karma system?

You don't create a system to drop bombs with karma and then punish people for using it.

knives serve many purposes, you can prepare food with them, or do all kinds of home improvement projects. Knives are generally NOT meant for cutting people up with.

Bomb though, especially KARMA STORE bombs, they are to be used on other memebers... for what reason? Seems to be at the discretion of the bomber. Maybe the person made anti american remarks, maybe they talked about abandoning dogs, or being an asshole a the gym, maybe they bombed you first so you are just reacting. Maybe they diffused a bomb you dropped.... whatever the reason, is it really a big fucking deal? I wish someone would g-bomb me just so I could set an example of how to handle it.

See my post tuc and Frisky.. KNIVES are made for purposes OTHER THEN cutting people.... Bombs are made for bombing peopel, plain and simple.

You say I have below average intelligence? You should start by using relevan analogies, or just shut the fuck up altogether. Its best to be though of as a fool then to post on EF and remove all doubt.

Its like the whole cry wolf thing... Bombs are overused they have just lost their meaning.

oh my. I'm sorry tuc, you are a nice guy and all, BUT sniff sniff. Why even let it bother you? THe site is to discuss topics or look stuff up. Can't you still do that when you've been bombed? Plus, it isn't like people can't read what you say, all they have to do is highlight your blacked out comments, when you are blacked out that is.

All i'm saying is that it shouldn't bother you if you're bombed, especially since it doesn't affect your operations on the site.

The sad thing is, I don't remember Tuc always being like this. He reminds me of Ulcasterdropout a in many ways. He was a cool guy for a while, someone you even respected, but then slowly but surely started slipping. Little things started pissing him off, then over time as it built up, his comments got more inflamatory and volatile... until...

well we know how things like this usually end up.

I've bombed plenty of people. And I've also gotten red from many, including mods who hit hard, admin, etc. Its all part of the game.

The Bombs just means somebody hates you enough to spend 3-10k of their hard earned/whored Karma to get their point across to you. You don't even have to be blacked out for long before one of your friends difuses the bomb.

just a minor point:

although frisky's analogy isn't perfect, that's ok. most (if not all) analogies aren't perfect. but it does make the point. yes, a knife can be used for purposes other than cutting people. no, an ef bomb cannot be used for anything other than bombing someone. true. but that doesn't mean it should be used to bomb anyone at anytime for any reason. and it doesn't mean that you need to use a single bomb. you say it's up to your discretion. that's true by default, because EF won't interfere for anything less than a violation of TOS. this is fine.

but there are always limits, to anything. sometimes we have to impose limits on ourselves, because we care to. it has nothing to do with what is merely allowed by the system.

taken far enough, it becomes a noticeable inconvenience, as opposed to mean words and red karma.

it's really the lack of intelligence and reasoning and respect for others on the part of some that bother me, and little else.

lastly, let's not forget that this only an expression of my opinion, not an attempt to whine.

It's not as lame as grown men with bomb squads and people using little internet bombs to gang-up on good posters here. People are not crying about it. Its no fun and IRRITATING to try and read posts here that are CONSTANTLY blacked out by adults playing preschool games.

Agreed. It's annoying to have to manually highlight every message. Especially when most of them turn out not to have been worth the effort.
