Clenching your jaw when lifting heavy.. Mouthguard ?

Does using a heavy duty internal mouthguard when lifing seem like a way to avoid the strain on my molars and very slight chipping in a back one that I noticed this week ?

Have you ever or ever seen anyone do this ?

I have never seen someone doing this, but a good mouthguard will protect your molars from damage. It's a good idea.

if you are a clencher, definately just suck it up and do it. youl get some weird looks, but fuck it.

my roomate's uncle used to lift back in the day, and he was a clencher. during a bench set, he crunched out about 1/3 of his teeth...no joke..

get a TMJ mouthpiece from the dentist, it will improve your strength too

Wow, how will it improve your strength though?

I think I'll pick up a thick clear one today on the way home and let you turds
know how it goes. Only concern is if it will impact on breathing during squats.

And those TMJ mouthpiece bitches are expensive as my wife has one..
Holy $$ for a damn piece of hard plastic

GYMTIME suggested that I go with a Jet black mouthguard with the word GANGSTA written in gold sparkly letters across the front. LOL

thanks for the input

it puts your jaw in the optimal positon so the spinal column is aligned properly, and so nervous system signals are stronger etc :)

Stronger electical current from CNS = greater muscle fiber activation.
