Clean and Press - anyone do them??

I don't see the "clean and press" in many workout routines. I would think it would be a staple like squats and deadlifts.
Are they worthwhile

I like them. They get my heart rate up, improve core strength, make me thicker in my shoulder area, and strength always goes up if I do them for around a month. My overall strength, back, arms, abs. Thumbs up for me.

would you do them on a back day, or a shoulder day -- or do you do back and shoulders together? It seems they work hamstrings somewhat plus back somewhat but shoulders a lot.

I normally do a 5 day split. Chest on Mondays, back on Tuesdays, Legs and abs on Wednesdays, shoulders on Thursdays, bi/tri and abs on Fridays.

I friggin love cleans :garza: :garza: !!! I do back and traps on the same day and I start out my workout with them. It should be a staple, Ive heard that it is the most "anabolic exercise" you can do, and I know when I do them regularly I notice strength increases in all of my lifts and I feel more athletic because they can increase explosion and quickness. I dont do the press I leave that for another day and exercise I do hang cleans I dont ever let the weight touch the ground I think thats the hardest way to do them though but I love it. Another reason I love them is because nobody ever does them and it always grabs alot of attention when I do them. I currently clean 225-10 to warm up and then 265-8 275-8 then 245-10 then I go into shrugs and so on, definatly do cleans there really good for you!!

I do them on back days, some leg days, and shoulder days. To keep my heart rate up sometimes I superset them with jump squats on leg days. SS with deadlifts on back days (which kills my grip), and if it's a shoulder day, I'll clean once and press three times for each "rep". It murders me.
 
I do them...mostly with a log though. I do all my OHP standing and lots of thick bar clean and presses. Talk about TOTAL BODY STRENGTH BUILDING!!!

absolutely, have become one of my favorite exercises...saw tremendous growth in traps/shoulder girdle after doing these for bout a year...highly recommend for your back/shoulder days
