damn, only day 5 and I am craving precious, delicious carbs :worried:

you'd think eating bacon, eggs, roast chicken, roast pork, rib-eye steak would be a cake-walk, but all I want is some toast :sperm:

Yeah, I know it sucks. The worst part is that it only works for me for about 5-6 weeks. I'm about ready to give up by then anyway....
 
say for breakfast a bacon and cheese omlette
then some sring cheese as a snack
roasted pork belly
almonds as a snack
roast chicken thighs
tuna and mayo

I tend to snack on almonds, also you can't have whey, you have to have casein which tastes like shit, especially when combined with 4 tablespoons of oil in a shake.
 
i did it once, the first few days were hard, after that it was really easy, didnt miss the carbs at all, i didnt notice much results till the end of the 2nd week, then the shit melted off, i had to stop pretty soon after that

Tuc -this is the thing.....the body WILL convert Proteins into sugar by a process called gluconeogenesis.


I dont think there is any evisence to prove that a zero carb diet is better than an ultra low one(less than 50 grams), as the body will make this conversion happen

yeah, I get some carbs, like ketchup, salad cream, from the almods, from cheese etc. all the signs of ketosis are there so it is going well

yes - ketois will vary...but I was in the medium range on 75 grams of carbs per day and using rala.




KEEP IN MIND - THE KETONES ARE FRACTURED FATS - SO THEY ARE AN ENERGY SOURCE......YOU MIGHT CHECK THE URINE AFTER A VERY PHYSICALLY DEMANFDING DAY AND YOU MIGHT NOT TURN PURPLE....IMO THE BEST TIME TO CHECK IN AM
 
I don't do the keto-sticks, I have done the diet twice before and know the signs to look for, also I am eating so little carbs there is no way I am not in ketosis.

Listen, I am able to rip up on 500grams of carbs per day. It's the quality of carbs that you eat, not the quantity that matters.

haha, that's how it was for me too. The first two times I did the carb-up I kept it clean... but after that I said 'screw it' and went with the same kind of thing (pizza, chocolate, etc).

from what ive read these things are fine during your carb up, its what i ate during mine, sugary cereal is another good one

I find CKD to be too expensive lol. meat is $$$. I have to shop at costco at least once a week or go broke.

anpb is the hardest diet.
 
im on week 3 of my ckd. first 2 weeks were tough. this last week has been not only much easier as far the cravings go and no cheating, but the results are more apparent this week than the first 2 weeks alone.

as far as a carbup day i havent been doing. what are good foods to be eating on the carb up?

do they have to be fat free carbs? how many is too many? Im also watching my calories and dont want to blow my numbers for teh week on one day.

would it be ok to go out for say SUSHI on my carbup day?

also are red or white onions ok to eat in a salad? or say a tomato?

Keto works. Simple.

But it is especially hard if you're itallian and love to eat pasta/lasagna/monicotti/ravioli/stuffed shells/etc..Pretty much everything. Itallians eat everything. lol
Anyway, you drool for that one carb day. I eat a trough of rice and attatch a feedbag of oats around my head.

I can't remember for sure, but I think Lyle McDonald recommends eating high-GI carbs during the morning of your carb-up day and taper off towards low-GI carbs by the end of the day... He also recommends keeping your fat intake as low as possible during your carb-up... I think.
