Circuit City is such a ripoff.

Or at least they try to be.

Any radio over $99 - free installation.
Any speakers over $99 - free installation.

Radio - $409
1 pr Infinity 6.5" front panel speakers - $129.00
1 pr Infinity 6x9 rear speakers - $179

Total - around $720.

Oh wait.... you got to buy a dash mount made for the specific car - $85
(same one down at Bestbuy for $19.00)

And then there was a $180.00 labor fee on the bill.

Wait a minute.... Hey dude, what is the labor fee for?
"Oh that is installing the radio and speakers".

But I get free installation right?
"Yeah you get free installation."

So why am I paying for this to be installed if installation is free?
"That's labor fees"

For what - and you better not say installation.
"For installing the components"

So what is the difference between free installation and installing this?
"Well installation is like installation, but installing it is the labor we do during the installation process. We have to install the installation."

GettheFuckOuttahere.

I went down to Bestbuy and bought the exact same system.... K to the first person that guesses how much it was down there. The entire system, all charges that they wanted to stick on me at CircuitCity would have been $985.

"We have to install the installation" is the coolest thing I have heard in a long time.

I bet whoever said it was wearing flips flops and had busted ass feet eh?

I would have been rolling on the floor.

$720 ,

The only time i got a good deal from them is the thanks giving day sales $200 hundred of a flat screen but i had to line up at 4am to get it .

Brad.

I quit shopping at CC a long time ago. Last year they decided to fire all of their experienced people so they could save some money. They offered to hire them back at half the pay. A short while after I read that article I went in to check out the Zune players. The lady that helped me didn't have a clue about the product. It was on sale so I got it anyway. I later read the article and that Zune was the LAST thing I will ever buy from them.

Are you kidding me...Comcast is a fucking rip off. I am a customer who wants to up grade to the 130 a month package and they want me to pay over 200 in installation fees on something I can install myself..Fuck them......Ok sorry for the high jack I am angry

lol this is the first time I have seen you pissed! You go! :)

Ok, the radio at BB was $399
6" speakers for front door panels $119
6x9 Rear speakers $179 (no savings there)
Face plate - free (since the radio was over $199)
Radio installation - $49
Speaker installation - $44 ($22 per pair)
then I had a 10% off coupon that MM69 found for me off fatwallet.com

Why did I go to CC first? Because I saw the ad for free installation and thought I would check it out. Not only was BB cheaper, but the regular installation fee for speakers was $44, but they gave me 50% off since I bought two pair. Then threw in the $20 faceplate. And my discount coupon came in handy.

Moral of the story? Fuck Circuit City.

I read about that and had a thread on here when they did that. That was fucked.

And you can walk into the CC store down here and practically feel the low quality environment hanging in the air. All the sales people seem to know how to do is look up a price on something.

But then again, I have seen Motorola do the same thing many times while I was in HR there. Fire the bulk of a department and then a week later bring in temp agency workers.

Motorola was a bitch too. They did their layoffs the week of Thanksgiving. Right before the holidays so people didn't have $$ to get their kids hardly anything with.

I occasionally walk thru CC because they sometimes have great deals since they know they are on their last leg, so-to-speak.

They will also negotiate with you if you say you are going to just get it at bestbuy instead.

I got a 15 inch lcd tv for my kitchen for $135 after taxes. lol, you can't even find a tube tv for that cheap.

I also got them to extend the terms on a 55inch tv to 3 years instead of 2 with zero percent interest financing.
