Ok, here's a little story for everyone.
Last night after rugby practise i was chilling around the club house and having a few drinks with some of my boys...well one thing leads to another so we decide to go out and tie one on.
Then my girlfriend shows up, i have a little conversation with her, tell her that some of the guys are going out etc...so she says she wants to come out to...except i can't drink if she's going to come, well i was already a little drunk, so i tell her i'm going to have a few beers. Well in the end she decides that she does'nt want to come out since i'm going to be drinking, so she leaves the club and goes home.
Ten minutes later i get a phone call and its her, she's breaking up with me on the phone...I mean on the fucking phone, how lame is that. We had been dating for four months now, things were getting rather serious, and she breaks up with me on the phone, and all that cause i was going to have a few drinks with the boys after practise. And its not like i drink regularly either, i've gotten drunk 3 times since we've been together.
I really was stunned by her actions, she had said she loved me just before i went to practise and then three hours later she's breaking up with me on the phone.

In any case, that's not an attack on you at all. I'm sorry that you are in that situation. You do seem to care for her. I'm sure you'll be able to work it out, if you want.

But do try to see her side of things, and talk about it. Don't be stubborn. It'll kill any chance your relationship has.

Wel i phoned her today to see what was up...and after a few minutes of small talk she said she had to go and when i asked her to talk with me for about what was going on she hung up on me. I'm really feeling pissed off about this whole situation.
I still have feelings for her, but the part of me that plays rugby is telling me call it quits now and save myself some grief, its also saying to do something hurtful to her, but i'll resist that urge.

She did not want you to drink while with her. You said that you were going to have a few, despite her request. If you had been dating 4 months, and things had been getting serious... she has a right to feel like she should come before an alcohol buzz.

I see your point about coming before a buzz but in my defense i don't drink often and when i do i don't drink alot, and i had already been drinking when she showed up. I was'nt paying for them, the guys from the club were shooting me free beers for the way i've been playing. The thing is that i am a rugby player, and have been since long before she met me, i like to have a few beers with the guys after practise every once in a while. Beyond that i don't go out, since i work as a bouncer i like to spend my days off away from the bar.

to answer your question, yes i do love her, quite frankly i thought she was "the one", and i've told anyone that wants to listen the exact same thing. And as for knowing that it was part of my lifestyle, the first time i met her i was drunk. She knew i was a rugby playing, weight lifting bouncer, i don't drink regularly, just every know and then. I used to be a big party animal, but i don't really like to drink that much any more, but i really don't see anything wrong with going out and having some fun with my mates every now and then.

Her story is probably different, but then again the main point of my story was that she broke up with me on the phone, i thought that was fucking lame.
She phoned me later on in the day, and proceded to talk with me for over an hour about nothing but useless shit, and any time i tried to discuss our relationship she just would change the subject. She is trying to control me and i know that, but i guess she does'nt know me that well cause there is no way i will be manipulated into being someone that i am not, sure i'll try to make it work but i won't change who i am for anyone.
I'm thinking i should just move on and cut my loses, i was lining up a gymnastics instructor at the bar tonight....it feels good to have some irons in the fire again.

I hate to tell you this, but even if you get back together, you are in for a looooong hurtful relationship. She has just proved to you how she will handle many or your fights in the future. She will run away and make you come begging. She is trying to get upper hand in the relationship, and will have control if you let her. Imagine if you married her one day, and had a fight. latest update

Since this post seems to be still generating some opinions i thought i would just give everyone here an update.
Well today i went out and watched a rugby game, since there was a bye for the first's this week. Well after the game i decided to spend some time at the club, and ended up having a blast and chatting up some chicks that were around. Then a bunch of us decided to go out for some dinner, in the end i got home about 6 hours later then i thought i was going too...when i checked my messages i found out that she had called 5 times through out the day. I did'nt call her back, instead i started to get ready for work and suddenly i get a call, its her and so we talk for a bit while i'm getting ready. I seriously don't know what she wants out of me, but she's sure making sure she can still pull the strings. Cause when we were hanging up she told me she loved me, what the hell am i supposed to do with that? she also said in the conversation that the reason we had to break up was that she had some issuse's that she needed to deal with and needed time alone. She does have issues that i have known about, she's struggled with eating disorders before and told me about that, and was with someone who was abusive, cheated on her and all that other great stuff that assholes do.

This whole situation has me scratching my head in wondement.
