Chest Injury

I've been doing pretty good on my bench performance lately. However, at some point, I sustained an unusual injury to my right pec. I say it's unusual because it only hurts on heavy bench days when I'm actually pounding out some good reps with relatively heavy weight. The problem is also unusual because it involves a dull to sharp pain that originates in my right pec and extends thru the muscle right above my armpit and down into my forearm.

What the hell is going on? A tear, a strain, overtraining?

This really sucks 'cause I was just really starting to make some good bench gains.

Ideas? Thanks in advance.
 
today was my chest tris etc day...and i streched out for about 20 min and did some pushups.. its felt a hell of a lot better when i got into heavy weight.. though it was still tight as hell....
 
Could be...

Probably just a minor sprain. Give it time to rest and heal. If you push it before it recovers you will just reinjure it. Take it slow.
