Check out the indoctrination happening at public schools!

this is a post by a guy at another board i frequent.

"I am constantly amazed at the "rules" my daughter keeps coming home and complaining & telling me about. Here is a short sampling of modern 5th grade school rules.

Which one pisses you off the most?

1. You must play with everyone; no one can be excluded from your group, or game you are playing. If a kid you don't like walks up and says, "I want to play", you must let him/her play or be "written up" (disciplinary action).

2. The color RED may not be used to correct other student’s papers in class. Only blue, purple or green is allowed. (Red is considered to "critcal" or "harsh") I have a feeling political motivation may be behind this one.

3. If any kid laughs at another for ANY reason (tripping, goofing up, spilling something...etc.) other than basically telling a joke - the whole CLASS is punished by missing recess time.

4. Lunch Seating - there must be an approximate 50/50 boy-girl mix at lunch tables. Grouping is not allowed. Lunchroom supervisors routinely "redistribute" students to other tables.

5. It seems as if about 80% of their history lessons are about slavery, immigrants, and other cultures celebrations and traditions. My daughter tells me that people of color (any color other than white) are "special." I have to remind her that SHE is special too - not just people of other races.
She can tell you all about "Kwanza"(sp?), and "Cinco de Mayo" (sp?) - but does not know about the Boston Tea Party, any real details about the 4th of July, Veterans Day, even the reason for Christmas is brushed over. WTF? (I have had to explain all of these American holidays to her)

6. Playing "Cops and Robbers", "Cowboys and Indians", or any other kind of "combative" make-believe is prohibited. Using your hand to make a "gun" shape will get your parents called and kicked out for a day.

7. Students get "playground points" (time credits to save up and use for extended recess time) for reporting kids breaking any of these rules.

8. If a student feels unhappy about a test score, or has had their feelings hurt in some way - they have immediate access to a "counselor". In fact, meeting with a counselor once a week is mandatory - even if the child does not have anything to talk about.

9. Parents are encouraged to pack a "standardized" lunch for their kids to limit what I can only explain as "lunch envy." The reason for this is to be sensitive to children that may not have as many "goodies" as others.

10. Children may not give any of thier "goodies" (candy bars, candy, chips...ect.) to other students. They are told "If share with one, you must share with all."

11. If you offend someone "accidentally" (I have no idea how they determine "accidental"), and the child reports it - the "offender" must meet with the other child and make/give them a "I am sorry card." The cards are then posted on the "Compassion Board". They stay up in the classroom until the "offended person" decides to take it down. The class is encouraged to give this person special treatment and "encouragement" until they feel good enough to "accept" the apology card, and take it down from the bulletin board.

More to come......"

The only one that I know of in the nearby school is the one about the no peanut rule and the rule about sharing (basically, you've got to give it to everyone).

Personally, I would rather that they don't and teach the children that everyone is NOT equal and that some ARE better then others. Based on this, the teachers can go one better and teach the children to WORK to improve themselves until THEY are better.

That's some of the most F'ed up shit I've heard! I'd be lookin' for another school, and if I couldn't find one I'd find a way to home school!

I think fat kids should be teased so they dont grow up with a false sense of security. If you grow up not thinking there's a problem then you're going to be a fat disgusting slob. Forget equality, its not happening. I would tell my child to ignore those rules and do whatever the hell he/she wants (within reason of course). Discrimination hurts, but its probably a more valuable lesson than what you learn in those class rooms.

Ive seen rules like this at various schools but not all at the same school..

Your kids is a future socialist in training.

All this bullshit is a product of "white liberal guilt"

Those are all obnoxious. Even as a teacher, those ALL offend me. My school doesn't have ANY rules like those, thank God. I don't think I could, in good faith, endorse those rules.

Everyone is NOT equal, some have more than others, some a prettier, some are more popular, some are smarter, etc etc. THIS is why people are becoming spineless, useless members of society who blame everyone/thing else but themselves for their failures.

I hope that shit is made up. If not, what town is it? That way I can be sure to not relocate there.

wow, uh.... now i understand whats happening....we took the teacher's money and diverted it to riverboat gambling and this is their EVIL plot to TOTALLY fuck up our childrens lives in hopes that they will be complacent drooling idiots.

Have we lost touch with reality that much? A symphathy card!!!

OH, sorry ... Im harshing the mello.... :vanp: :evilking: :splat:

If I had a kid and they came home written up for any of those reasons, I'd go into the school and absolutely lose my mind on the teacher that was idiotic enough to enforce it...then the principal for being a gutless puke. This is a catastrophe in the making...we're gonna have a whole generation of sheep walking into the lion's den known as the 'real world'.

sounds like people are becoming politicians....

wtf is kwanza?

I believe it; the red pen one I know of from teachers I know.

The others seem believable; I had a gf with a school age child a while back and there were all kinds of rules...I did not pay that close attention to it (not my kid) but this is believable.

I call BS on the story.

I think you made this up.

In fact I will put my money where my mouth is:

Tell me the name and location of this school, their phone number if you have it, or I'll look it up.

I will call them myself and verify if they have those rules. If they do I'll paypal you or your buddy US$100.00.

Easiest 100 bucks you could make.

If not how about you start spreading lies?

These are the rules I will enquire about:

if that is true it has to be a small percentage of schools

i've never heard of anything like that. it's not all public schools.

you think i made it up? want me to copy/paste all of his posts right now? you really think i am going to sit there and type all of that shit up?

what is so outlandish about these rules? we had many similar ones when i was in middle school.

The offer stands dude.

Post up or shut up.
