Chalk Substitutes?

You mean like a different kind of chalk? Rosin bag or something?

Or you mean dumping the chalk entirely and going with straps?
 
For pulling movements, you can use straps instead of chalk. For pushing movements, i know some people who use straps just to feel "more connected" to the bar, but i have tried it and it feels akward.

No, but a guy who put me onto em, has he does dinosaur training, oly lifts and some powerlifting etc and he said it works as well as chalk.
 
Hm....I may need to get some of that for my gymbag. For those times when I'm stuck at the fitness center and feel like picking up one of their pretty, chrome (read: slippery) bars. :D
 
Isn't it? Those days are rare, but they occur. There's usually some good Barry Manilow to top it off.
