Caught in the act...now what?

Just throw them in the pool right before they are done drying.

When he asks where they are, tell him that he should know because you already warned him.

Tough love is needed right now. Tough love is better than getting your ass beat by a tough chick.

Someone kept taking the clothes out of the dryer and just throwing them on the garage floor to do their own laundry at my house. I have always really known that it was the step son, but never caught him red handed.

I told all the kids to please put any clean clothes in a basket and bring them inside and to not throw them on the floor. It kept happening. I said that the next time it happens, I will take the perp's clothes and throw them in the pool.

Now, son just got home from school and no one else is here. I watched him go into the garage with a basket of his clothes and now my freshly cleaned clothes are in the floor.

It would be psycho for me to throw his clothes in the pool, and would probably mess up the damn pool chemicals, anyway. But damn I want to! What would be a snarky but not completely psycho way to make my point?

That dude must offer you a life of comfort and ease. No way could I put up with that bullshit otherwise.

ask him why he did it.
then ask him if you put a basket next to the dryer (or on it, whatever) will he put your clothes in there instead?
if he says yes, there's a good chance he'll do it. if he doesn't, tell him you thought you could trust him and ask what he thinks you should do about it.

I think this is the best response. Throwing his shit in the pool will only make him seek revenge. He already has a problem.

im a big fan of the "if you make a mess, you get to clean up an even bigger mess" school of thought

if someone in the family leaves their cup/plate/mug laying about, they get to pick up everyones cup/plate/mug

if someone in the family makes a mess in one corner of the room and leaves it laying about, they get to clean up the entire room

since your stepson was so inconsiderate as to dirty your already clean clothes (a double violation imo) then imo its appropriate for him to clean, dry and fold EVERYONES clothes...for one wash.

dont neglect to give him a chance to lie to you about dumping your clothes on the floor, in which case depriving him of various other privilages is the way to go...if not throwing a shoe at his head

(my sisters used to do all this shit all the time. its fucked.)

Won't work. He'll seek revenge. Just will make things worse.

In that case, I want to be the stepson.
