Being off work is a good time to do this too. The weekends are the days I can stay off the caffeine best.

I haven't been taking caffeine on a regular basis for long enough that I don't have to have it or face a deprivation headache. The past couple of days though, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been popping Vivarin and ephedrine to get my ass motivated to do the things I need to do.

If I can get in a stable job situation where I can workout with consistency and eat what I need to eat, I'm going to go back on creatine and see how that works since I haven't been on it for a long time. When I do that, I'll have to lay off all caffeine and ephedrine to take full advantage of the cellular hydration creatine causes.

But even before then (which hopefully will be soon, anyway), I am going to try to steer away from stims whenever possible. Easy to say... much harder to do. :)
 
yeah I don't get deprivation headaches but to say I'm not addicted would be naive....i can only be without it if I'm just lazing aroudn the house and don't have to do drudgery....which I love to do but that's only once a week if I'm lucky.

Being off caffeine is so relaxing, it's a drug in itself....a drug I can't afford.

I hear ya on needing that boost to get motivated. I recently tapered off the ECA and/or coffee and i'm doing pretty decent without it now.

I took creatine for the first time in 2 years yesterday and had major gas and shits and still do. It was damn harsh on my digestive tract. I don't know if its the new stuff I bought (Prolab) ... anyone recommend another brand? I used to get micronized and had no problem. I doubt I'd gather the balls to down another spoon of this crap.

Creatine never seemed to give me problems in the way of GI disturbance. The past couple of times I've messed around with the stuff, I've just bought the Weider powder from Wal-Mart. Before that, I used Cell-Tech, and before that, I messed around with various brands, starting from the very first with that overpriced Phosphagen HP stuff from EAS.
 
I've gotten mild intestinal upset from the cheap brands, but not so bad that I had to stop.

Coarse powder is irritating to the digestive tract--try splitting up the dose. No more than 5g at a time.

Also when I say cheap, I mean CHEAP! Like $12-14 for 500g.
