Cardio

I found the stepper an excellent fat-burner. Treadmills give me shin-splints and running outdoors on concrete is hard on my back.

the eliptical kicks my ass....ill do it backwards...feels more natural and movements stretch legs more.

Sprint intervals on wood chips or grass. Pavement will lead to pain.

i do the elliptical and stepper, occasionally walk on the treadmill, or bike outside.

anybody else's feet go numb when they are on the stepper or elliptical?

Ellipticals feel weird to me.

Just running (treadmill or normal) or doing the bowflex treadclimber, though, are the greatest fat-burning cardio exercises I've discovered. I have my own bike and am going to sell it since a cardio bike isn't as effective for me. Full-body cardio like running and stuff shows much better results than simply working my legs.

Stair climbing is the most challenging - what about rowing too?

The treadmill is bad for your knees (if you are running) because the small bounce contributes to instability in the knee.

ive been thinking about rowing...havent ever really done it...put seems liek it'd be up there with swimming as far as a full body cardio

Hell yeah! Swimming has got to be the best thing for improving your HEALTH as well because it lengthens the muscles as well as strengthening them.
