Cardio Question

gjohnson5 said:
It depends on goals. As I was saying in another thread, How much do you think Allan Iverson squats. I'll tell you. The answer is next to nothing. But how many of you can run a 4 minute mile? He doesn't even like to lift weights. He takes abuse going to the rack and still scores, and 1...

You 2 are ignoring goals. So saying that giving up weights is stupid is a prejudgement at least

couldn't have put it better myself.

Well if we are talking about asthetics here, and from the original poster, I'm pretty sure that's what he is talking about.....I would keep weights above cardio because I feel it has the most dramatic effect on appearence....depends on what look you want...personally I'm going for the "jacked-but-still-functionally-athletic" look as opposed to the "runner physique"

Muscles are built with resistance training, nada else to do for it - bodyfat levels can be manipulated with diet or cadio, or both so there is more options to work with. This is why I say I would drop cardio before weights

Chewy , no disrespect , but your gallery suggests that you've never built any muscle. Therefore you're words have a bias attached to them. When you get some age , metabolism slows, dependants maybe, then let's see what you think. You're just too young to make those comments.

You should see my before pics if you think I haven't built any muscle.

What exactly was the point of your post? I merely posted my opinion on the matter. If you disagree with that, fine, don't tell me I haven't built any muscle. I think I've done a damn good job in less than 2 years starting from where I did.

Of course my words have bias attached to them, I'm speaking from my own experience. You have no better idea what will work for this guy than I do.

cardio and lifint help stimulate weight loss quicker because they are too different types on workouts. Anaerobic (weights) Aerobic (jogging/walking). There fore you burn off weight better IMO. There is no such thing as spot reduction, you need to think about long term goals, 2 months of dieting in excess with running, check out oher diets to see what we all have corrected, try reading more before posting, but let me know how it pans out...

***running on empty stomach does nothing but work abs more, there is no proven research showing the differences in cardio times of day***

still no scientific research? so what i aguy was fat and now skinny, any time u are more active and burning more calories then you take in you loose weight correct?

How is weight loss, expelling more then intake...right? So there fore does it matter when you do cardio? Hmm

bottom line kid, diet is best way to loose weight, enough said

Reread it again. There is a study at the bottom of of the web page.
Tom Venuto is not any guy. You need to do research on who the person is writing the article

I had this same argument with another person who thought they were right when infact they were wrong. When stomach is empty there are no calories to burn. Metabolic process will either convert fats to sugar by your liver , or will break down muscle into amino acids and then convert those to sugar. Then you have calories to burn...

Basically all your assertions are incorrect. Just like the other guy
Do research , kid...

Why does this continue to be argued? Who cares? Find out what works and do it........When I cut, I need the cardio........when I bulk, I do the cardio for my heart............just do what ever the hell works...........
