Cardio before lifting help

Fellas,

I have trying this for the past couple of days and it has been killing my workout...was trying 10 minutes of jogging before and 10 minutes of jogging after my weight training. The weights feel really heavy like i am already fatigued.....i will switch my cardio to 20 minutes of jogging after my workout...just wondering if this was a good idea??? What do you guys recommend for getting lean and ripped??....Thanx for the help!!

Well many theories are around. Bottom line do the cardio first if fat loss is the goal OR do them on a seperate day. AM cardio is perferred on an empty stomach by many. Still just do it.

Always do the cardio after, or on a different day, for the exact reason you said, it will kill your workout. Also the workout itself will let to burn off some of that glycogen that is stored up, therefore when you do cardio after you are more likely to burn more fat.

you got to be in bad shape to have 10min of cardio (if it is some low intensity
stuff) ruin your workout. the theory about the depleted glycogen stores is
incorrect. usually a work out doesnt burn quite as many carbs as we'd like to
think and beta oxidation (use of free fatty acids as an energy source) is not a
factor in short low intensity cardio sessions.

so are you saying weight training, doesnt burn glycogen?? b/c it does! if that is the case, then why is there so many studies that show, using a high glycemic drink mixed with protein, pre, during and after allow for greater recovery and lean mass gain?

Its not that i am in bad shape....its just i need all of my energy to bench 405 for reps, while trying to shed extra body fat...i bet you probably maximize yourself in the weight room like i do.....anyways, it comes out to about 3 miles daily....i guess im out of shape bra!!

I was only talking about this part

if you burn off some of that glycogen first with weights, b/c thats what weight training uses, then when you do cardio, you wont have to burn it off first, you are able to start burning fat, however, calories burt are calories burt. in the long run it doesnt really matter!
