Hey, I heard that you surf, rock the fuck on. My question is, I have a lot of family in Jersey, and I'm going late this summer and want to bring my board cuz I heard you guys have a real nice coast line. Anyways what are some good breaks to ride in Jersey. Anything near Seaside Heights, cuz I will be there for a while. Please let me know something cuz I can't go without the surf for more than one week, and I will be there for almost one month.

If anyone else knows of good surf spots, feel free to let me know. Thankyou

yo Peyote...how big are you? I just started surfing....I'm a decent size guy (250-255)...and I was wondering if you can be any good that size....I fall down alot...LOL.....:)

thats pretty funny, but i'm 185 about 5'8''
If you really like to surf and want to get good, my advive is to work with a stability ball. They will help you stand on the board, not to mention all kinds of other shit. But don't get discouraged it took me a while too, but once I got it, I loved it. Also at 185 I'm like the biggest surfer in the water, so that says surfing isn't meant for the bigger croud, O fuckin well, now I'm good and no body fucks with me cuz of my size.
Keep practicing you will get the hang of it.

Yeah - I bet Buck surfs like the Titanic...glub, glub, glub...

yeah, pretty much. I wipe out alot and suck down lots of salt water...LOL....;)

Bro thats half of surfing wiping out. It's almost as much fun as riding a wave. Now as far as the Titanic thing goes you might want some lessons on falling rather than standing.
LOL

Bullshit he wont. Havoc is my coworker and he weighs about the same. He not only surfs but tears it up when he's out there. He is by far the biggest guy in the water when he goes. He has no trouble at all. It's like anything else, practice will do you wonders.

Usually you would have to stick to a long board bro...i don't have a Gun that could hold you.

Most deffinatly Insano, I will let you know when I will there. It's always better to ride with someone, who knows the breaks. I'm not to sure on the dates yet, but when I know I will tell you. Also I don't know shit about what kinda waves are there, what kinda board should I bring. I got a fish, classic short, and my hurricane season gun.

Bring the Fish or the shorty bro...Let me know on the dates to make sure i will be around. I am going on two vacations this summer but hopefully we'll get up.

I went surfing yesterday and they were waist high...

Justinf22, dont call people liars for no reason, what is the point of lying about someones surfing history? A person who lies in general and especially on the net is only fooling themselves. I have been surfing for 19 years now, weight doesnt make a difference whatsoever, weight can be compensated for by the length, width and thickness of the board and by the wave height and strength of that particular day. I know its hard but stop talking out of your ass and leave that to your friend Clarence.

Mike Myers 6'10

Rober August(long board), 9ft 6inches,
Dimensions 17.5"nose x 22.75" wide x 14"tail, can catch anything with this, I read once where you wrote that longboarders are posers but I kept to myself, no there not as fast but they are more challenging, during the recent Tropical storm allison here in Texas I took it out and got busy.

Most longboarders by me hog all the waves and they are old guys who will cut you off and snake you. I guess i don't get along with most long boarders and ankle biters..but you are cool.
I ride a 6'8" precision...i think that i am getting too big for it though...i am 200 lbs...

What do you suggest for the most speed at my weight? i am 5'11"

I remember the first board I rode was a 5"7 hurricaine and I was about 120. Depends, be honest now, what are the average size of the waves where you are at, I am guessing chest to head. A thicker board at the same height or a little taller would be just fine I think. The only east coast surfing I have done was at Sebastian Inlet about 1hour and a half away from cocoa beach, not bad at all, Kelly Slater was out there, I was about 11 years old.

Most of the waves her are waist to chest to head in the summer. In the winter i have surfed double overhead here. It's a little scary but at the same time it's such a rush to come down the wave screaming...

so you are saying maybe a 6'1" thick fish?...please elaborate...thanx.;)

Captain:
BIG GUYS SHORTBOARD

Size Range 7'0" - 7'6"

Typical Dimensions 7'4" x 20 3/4 x 2 5/8

Design Features - Shortboard nose template, squash tail, curvy outline, vee or concaves.

Characteristics - Highly maneuverable early to plane.

About the board..... The concept behind this board is to make a board that performs to the high levels you'd expect from a gulf stream shortboard but for a surfer who weighs more than the average guy - say 13 stone plus.

What we are essentially doing is taking our best 6'0" - 6'8" shortboard outlines and literally scaling them up. The width of the boards is a key factor in these designs. The easiest thing to do with a bigger shortboard is to give them straighter lines which will make them feel kind of gunny in the water. That's great in big powerful surf but we're looking for shortboard performance in normal surf conditions aswell. So by increasing the mid width of these shortboards we can achieve two things..1) We can use heaps more outline curve which simply makes the board want to turn more easily and therefore making it simpler to generate your own speed by easy rail to rail turns and... 2) wider boards paddle and plane more easily. The bottom shapes again mirror that of the smaller shortboards with concaves being the favorite for suckier performance waves and some form of vee for more predictable and safer handling.

Most Suitable for.... Obviously I've covered this area already, anyone who weighs around the 13 stone area and wants shortboard performance without forfeiting catching waves can't afford to overlook these boards. Other surfers who might also be interested are those of you who might be looking to take your first step to riding a shortboard from a minimal. Also surfers who normally ride shortboards but are getting perhaps a bit long in the tooth for all the thrashing and paddling involved may also like to consider the easier life these boards give you.

Elaboration complete.

thanx bro...Was that from a website or your explanation either way it was elaborate. :)...
