Can I do facepulls with a rope?

A premade tricep rope with the ends knotted, or is that too narrow? I`m thinking it would be easier on my hurting wrists. I would spread the rope out as I pull, or should I go with the straight bar? How wide should my grip be?
 
sounds good. I was just worried about the width of grip I guess. That`ll be great for my aching wrists. thanks all
 
how long is your rope when outstretched? The one I use isn't short. While holding onto it, I can get a good squeeze in my back at the end of the move.

A little less than 2 feet from end to end, I guess. I never really stretched it out. lol I only do tricep pushdowns with it. It`s the store bought ones. Maybe they`re a specific length, I don`t know.
 
The one bought at my gym sounds about that length. In regards to one of your questions: I read somewhere to pull the rope apart as you pulled it toward you. That's how I do mine. I find it easier on my elbows that way.
 
sounds exactly like the same style and length of the rope i use.............. you'll be ok.
