Camera peeps thoughts...

just looked at that specific camera. Seriously, QT, that is like halfway between a standard digital camera and a digital SLR. I would just get a Canon 8MP digital SLR like this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Canon-Digit...LR-Camera_W0QQitemZ300081196032QQcmdZViewItem.

then run through camera shops and pawn shops searching for older canon lenses that will attach to it.
I know that is why I picked it the price is far less then a digital SLR but almost all the features.

I have an old fully manual SLR that I almost never use anymore photography used to be a bit of a hobby for me looking to pick it back up.

What brand? Maybe you can ebay a digital SLR body that would match up.

I've got an older powershot. Works pretty good. You can either set it up to point and shoot, or set it to M and you can manually set, speed, aperature, ISO. I'm not sure how the new one is, but there is annoy little delay between the time you press the button and get the shot.
I got a battery charger for the 4 AA's, I need recharge about every 2 months.

holy crap i was just looking at that same camera yesterday. i like it because its like a slr 35mm camera but digitial. lots of cool gadgits you can buy for it for even better pics.

QT, if you get the teleconverter and wide-angle converter for that camera it may be a great buy. You can get a 1.5x teleconverter or a .75 wide angle converter that will attach to the end of the lens.

I am not an ebay fan most of the stuff is located in the states then you have to pay take and duty when it comes accross the board so there is no real savings in my eyes. I don't have that many lens from my old slr so not really an issue.

I've read a lot of reviews on it. No complaints to speak of. Go for it, I doubt you will be displeased. You'd probably get a decent resale on it, if you step up to a digital SLR.
