Calculating TRT into Cycle Test

Does anyone who is on TRT add their TRT weekly dose when setting up a cycle? For example, I am on 200mg /wk for TRT and I am starting a cycle where I am using 750 mg /wk of Test-E. I would normally take around 500 - 600 mg / wk of test in a cycle but since I take 200mg /wk of Test-C it seems to reason that I should add the TRT and the normal cycle dose to get my on cycle dose. It seem to me that since I have been on TRT I have to take more test than I used to. Maybe its just fried receptors, but if your body was producing T naturally then you would, at least for a while until your body shuts down, have your normal body's T added in with your cycles dose. I dont know how clear I am being. Here is my upcoming cycle:

1-12 750 mg/ wk Test-E
1-12 400 mg/wk Deca
1-5 40mg/day Dbol

Regardless, it will be a classic massive mass builder. Last time I ran this cycle, it was tremendous.

I am also very curious about this! It seems your logic is sound. I would think the best approach would be to get your t levels in range with blood test and then add your cycle as if you were not on trt and then cruise on trt for pct. Did I just overstate the obvious?

Thats what I was thinking. Last time I ran the cycle I listed above I ran about 500mg/wk but if my logic is correct then it would be like I was running 300mg Test-E with 400mg deca.

I would like to hear from some vets on this one.

Thats a very interesting point.. But The problem is that once your body is shut down, and is producing no test, there is nothing to calculate, so you would be getting 500mg if you take in 500 mg... u should figure you trt dose in with your cycle dose. Most people dont know there natural levels before starting, being as tho most dont see physicians regularly and have blood work done, and you never see anyone figure it in with it.... Just my two cents..

I would be curious to know how long it takes your body's natural T to shut down. It seems like something impossible to calculate since you can't measure your levels of natural T vs synthetic T.

to the op.. just pick a dose you would cycle with and run that for a cycle.. dont just add your trt dose in as well.

when you cycle your body is producing almost 0 test after just a few weeks. you can get this tested to see

also you can easily get blood work done pre cycle to see where your test/ free test levels are.. then get blood work again mid cycle to see where they are... and there is blood work that will tell you if you are shut down.

So when you are mid cycle, you can get blood work to tell you if you're shut down? Your T levels will be sky high mid cycle. How does that indicate anything? Pre-cycle, yes but mid, I don't think so

^^^Exactly, Tom is 110% correct that most people just fly by the seat of their pants on doses and never have blood work done before , during or after so they never have any idea where their free test levels were are and end up. Getting blood work done will also give you a reference point for your TRT dose for the future and the level of PCT you will need to bring your levels back in line.

sorry to confuse but its not your test you would want to compare pre/mid cycle

you would want to compare and track your LH and FSH levels.. there maybe other things to look for as well but generally those will help give you a good idea on when you are shutdown.

That makes since. My TRT is prescribed so he checks my levels each time I go in. Last time it was 230 on 200mg/wk. He says that's normal and won't raise my dose even though all safety factors like blood count were normal. Maybe normal for a an elderly man but not me at my age. I am getting a little off topic, but comments about getting levels checked reminded me. I am thinking of going to another endocrinologist or I will just have to supplement the T on my own.

Blood work before the cycle seems easy enough. but when is the best time after, Arabian? Thanks.

bigb797977: is your total test 230?

thesvpdeal: bloodwork can be done anytime and tell you something.. it depends on what you are looking for.. if you want to see if you are really recovered i would do bloodwork right after pct during 1 cycle.. and then 2 weeks after pct another cycle and compare them to your baseline / pre cycle bloodwork

if you are looking to track something else you might want bloodwork at another point in time.

Yes, my total testosterone serum is 230. Normal is 350 - 1200. It's even indicated on the lab report that it is abnormally low, but he refuses to raise my dose.

Well, 200 every week is already a high dose -- above normal/high and that cycle you have planned is WAAY high. I believe when cycling on HRT you shouldn't push it too hard. The body likes balance.

You may think, "What the hell, I'm on HRT" but it isn't as simple as that. You can go back on 200 mgs a week and fell "shut down."

Also, I believe in doing a PCT even if going back on HRT.

If 200mg/wk is above normal, what does it matter if it's not getting my T levels where they need to be. T does increase your red blood cell count which can increase risk for blood clots, but my blood count is normal. Would you be happy with a 230 T level? It's been a year since my last cycle.

I'm confused now -- your T is 230 with 200 mgs of test a week? Something's wrong there.
