Cadence CD's or Tapes For Cardio?

Do any of you guys former or current military ever run to cadence tapes or cd's? I came across some old ones recently and started to use them as I HATE cardio. I find it's really been beneficial to my mindset as it changes my pace,, keeps it steady for 45 minutes at 4.2 MPH and before I know it, I'm done. NICE. Just what I needed.

good idea

I use mostly techno/trance tracks - usually get synched up with the beat and then 10 mins has gone by like nothing, like you

Yeah I usually used rock tracks but this cadence seems to work better mentally for me. I don't get all psyched up, but it helps me to stay right on the same pace so I can go further longer. I like it. To each his own but It reminded me I need to shave my head again.

Recon Rangers!!!!

I find that regular music provides enough cadence for me, particularly Tool songs.

do you guys try and stay at a certain pace when running, say 4 or 5 MPH or what exactly?

ugh - there is nothing more demotivating and demoralizing than cadences early in the morning.

wait, i take that back. cadences are good for running only if, and only if, they are good cadences and everyone is piping in.

now 'sounding off' in the morning during PT is what i hate so fucking much. i hate having to yell and scream my head off at 4am, and i hate hearing everyone else do the same.

ugh.......

the machines at my gym dont have a reading in mph

on a scale of 1-10
i warm up at a 6 for 5 min
then increase it by .5 every 2 mins until i hit 8
then decrease it by .5 every 2 mins until i get back down to 6
then do a cool down at 6 for 4-5 mins

??? Those numbers should be representing MPH

i used to run to cadence tapes because it was the perfect tempo. I have a hard time moving out of time with a beat...lol. I got them from some soldier of fortune type magazine, but I don't recall the exact mag right now.

I once purchased a cadence book and tapes for more material but I have always found myself saying the ones I already knew in my head as I run...kind of funny...
